OMG...I went to a taping of this show (pilot episode) back in 1996! I was in the Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton and I believe the studio would pay (not sure who) for studio audiences. My Company asked for volunteers, and we went. I remember seeing a taping of MAD TV and this show.

After all these years, still a lovely song. But some cringey lyrics and a poor music video and if I’m honest, not the song to comeback with after such a long break. Single 2/3 vibes or great album track.
I feel like this was a test single to see if she was going to do another album and I don’t think it did well and that’s what squashed it. That’s too bad because I think that if the label would’ve put a little bit more behind promoting this song and a video, it could’ve done well. I think the video message alone is incredible.
Honestly, I think that this video was deemed to controversial and that was a big issue. Which is sad because it does have a great image. At that time Geri was doing a lot with pride, festivals and working with the LGBTQ community. The song wasn’t the absolute greatest, but it wasn’t absolutely horrible either and I think the message behind it is what should’ve been pushed more than anything.
