Know the area fairly well. Younger sister was doing a walkathon with her school, North Tech (no longer in existence) and one of her classmates picked up a 1/2 oz nugget on one of those tracks.
This is an excellent idea. Never thought of sewing directly to the wood. I have always sewn two pieces of cloth or canvas together with a stiffener in between then stitch on the zipper. I have used velcro strips insted of a zipper in a pinch and it works also, just a bit more of a pain when opening and keeping aligned when closing.
i just picked one of these up today. The manual says to use 88x1 needles. I was going to sew light leather on it but can't find a 88x1 needle with a leather point for love nor money. What size of needle are you using or any advice?

Looks like standard low cost AC thermostats and timers running a dc relay. Is that about right? I’m looking into making my own but larger and better insulated. You wouldn’t happen to still have access and could tell me the pet numbers or printed specs can you? I would appreciate it. I don’t want to buy one just to check the parts 😅

A little noisy and quite sturdy. I eventually had a stress fracture in the mesh from where the awning bracket was mounted but this was just typical of aluminium. Aluminium work hardens over time making it brittle.
Not one swear word. Very impressive. I did some from my end for you but not at you. Bash plate surgery. Most people watching don’t realise how heavy those bash plates are. Is it 4mm thick? Thanks for going to all the trouble to make this video. Its good to know about the noises that can come from bash plates. Bash plates a worth while must have demon but I can imagine having to take them off every service or time I have to look under there. More swear words 😂 thanks again for making a great video. I purchased this one for $150.00 but it needed some tlc. These machines take a universal needle like those used in domestic machines. I have drilled out the needle bar to take up to 140/16 needles which are much thicker. This allows me to use industrial threads for leather and canvas. I am installing a servo motor to slow it down and increase the control. With these mods you would expect to cost around $500. 00 this is still a very affordable machine. The next step up would be a 111w 211w which go for around a grand and up.
Ground balance is from the 2 adjustment knobs on the front panel. Switch to position 1 Turn balance 1 knob while pumping coil up and down until the detector threshold is stable. Switch to position 2 Turn balance knob 2 while pumping coil up and down until the detector threshold is stable. Switch to centre position to start detecting.
I find that deep targets still stand out. When I run in normal I call the detector moaning myrtle. My mate doing a .4g Nugget in amongst hot rocks. I went and looked at it today and the ground was ridiculously hot. He would never have found it in difficult. I'm still getting used to it....
@@Gold_Hunt_Australia that's true. I tried couple of times running normal but continues noise is just to much for me because I'm going to bush to enjoy myself and gold is just a bonus.

Value for money and still very good quality is Rola they are sold in Australia by super cheap autos and come in various sizes. The roof rail system will depend on what is fitted to the Fortuna. Ha Ha get a plastic clip for scoop - there has to be more yella there for sure - your doing everything superbly anyway - my scoop lives in back left pocket - i have had to backtrack on trilobite for that and my glove LOL
