What sander will do rails and stiles and sand contour edges when your repainting cabinets? Does the DTS have a soft pad to do this or should I choose the RTS?
I'm curious to know what Festool's reason for going battery powered given they spent years gathering feedback on this and the #1 feedback (and obvious configuration imo) based on comments here and on other sites is to have it corded.
Doesn't festool produce noise cancelling ear buds? I think they even make safety glasses and gloves. Nice to know you don't need any of them when grinding concrete
Hi Brian. My new CXS 18 has a high-pitch whine, which I gather is common to this drill. But why? I have two other Festool drills, a C12 and a PDC 18/4, and they are relatively quiet in use. Is this noise normal? Just put up with it? It does take the shine off a good product. Regards from Perth, Derek
Festool - peace of shite. .. 2 batteries after few months of use broken down. When I sent to Festool they sent me invoice for fixing £130 / each when new battery cost aprox £100.

I don’t agree with some of what he said. A track saw with parallel guides is just as accurate or even more so when using clamps because you don’t have to worry about keeping the work perfectly flush with a table saw fence. Any drift is going to show up when accuracy counts. A track saw is as accurate as a sliding table saw in that sense. After all, why do we think it took Festool so long to finally release a table saw? There are still advantages to both, but the table saw’s advantage is its unbeatable versatility & workflow and not its accuracy. Both are accurate enough, and both excel in repeatable cuts (as long as your track saw has parallel guides).
I don't own a table saw. I'm in a very small space. My TS55 gets the job done. It would be nice to have a small table saw for those narrow cuts, but I've been able to do workarounds with the track saw. One day hope to get the Festool table saw. One step at a time 🙂
Same experience here. I gave in and bought the CSC SYS 50. It's a game changer for small spaces. I highly recommend getting one once you have the opportunity to.
