Your persistence with the project is admirable. I think the compressor diffusor needs some re-design as it not only needs the vertical guide vanes that you already has, but it is also missing the horizontal guide vanes which radiate out from the edge of the compressor to the edge of the stator, the vane would allow you to compress air effectively by changing the path of the air. Hopefully this can help. Also, try using a larger compressor as this compressor is way too small for a turbine of that size.
Mega cool!
Nice project. On the other hand, if you want to use gas for the tests, it's a big propane bottle. You will not operate properly with a camping gas bottle. If the turbine wheel is made of Inconel, the reddening is not dangerous, especially at very low revs as is the case in your video. Good luck, you're almost there
Lots of wannabe engineers copy & pasting googled information here but nobody talking about holding a cigarette lighter at the back of the motor in a 25kmh wind, or igniting fuel in the tailpipe and expecting it to light something 7" further back inside the engine. Although it's fun to reinvent the wheel, perhaps the wisdom of having an ignition point inside the combustion chamber or at least further back was always a good idea.
Hello, I came to this video after watching the test run videos. You made BS again, your engine cannot run even 100 years later, sorry for become rude. Here are some advices: you should read Kamps's book 4 or 5 times, or you will 'invent' some weirdo thing 1. Important thing about jet engine is "mass flow rate". The quantity of air it sucks per second equal to its efflux gas in kg. It means you have to carefully calculate and choosing the right compressor wheel and turbine wheel to make their flow rate are matched in design stage. Some random compressor wheels and your 'invented' turbine wheel won't work. 2. You have no idea how a diffuser works, that's why the air flow in compressor is easily breaked and produce no pressure 3. I just glanced at it and saw that your jet engine has so many problems, not to mention the design only, but also the poor workmanships: the material choosing, the tolerance in machining and assembly, dynamic balance...going back to my comment above, read Kamps or Kurt's books 5-10 times to equip yourself with enough knowledge, otherwise give up on this project or you will waste another 10 years
Why do you need this engine? To show that you can do it? You have the ability and ability to do it, I have no doubt about it. But who do you want to surprise with it? General Dynamics or Pratt & Whitney? A more interesting option is to create a rotary engine and compete with Omega One Egine or X-Egine. I think you can do this. If you are interested, let's talk about this topic.
Could you use a motorcycle fuel pump to feed the fuel system works great? you still need make a 2-stage diffuser, this one won't touch the intended engine, it's getting there. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IWQbqXZJZ48.htmlsi=TDqeeNCWZmom3G8F
Not creating vacuum or boost, which is why it’s not running on its own. Your fuel supply needs to be referenced to your engine, electricity via sensors or a mechanical reference. An oil fed bearing system would help a lot. Good progress so far.
Great job sir how can I talk to you please I would love to work on a project with you I build and sell drones in Nigeria and I have a cnc milling machine please sir I would love to hear from you
Very cool! I am also currently building my own small turbojet engine (body diameter 70mm) Now I am building a test bench and an afterburner. My engine ru-vid.coms1JnozlLdV8
Can it not run without compressed air? I think solidworks can do airflow simulations to test a design before building it. Might be good enough to design by
for the next tests in my opinion it would be more appropriate to try to install a pump and use kerosene with the engine hot, furthermore due to the high revolutions that a turbine makes the bearings should be constantly lubricated, which from the video does not seem to be done, in fact jetcat uses oil inside the kerosene which first passes inside the hub with the bearings and then comes out to be burned
