Not real soapstone. You can tell. .Won’t last but it’s budget friendly . A year is not long . Every few years it will look bad and have to do it all over. Heat is a problem as is water . Concrete poured counters with soapstone simulated staining and seal would last much longer and feel more like stone.
Great build, love the flutes. Build or rescue your chairs. The time and expense of building chairs is not worth it, BUT the skill building and satisfaction is. Start simple missionary chair builds, and do not try anything fancy. That is for later on .
Is it bad that I would want to be your friend partly because of your garage & talent?? I did say partly, you seem cool too. Together we could fill a great Home DIY- Decor store.
You drill through the jig bushings. It’s not for marking. The bushings keep your drill bit aligned to drill straight. By using it to just mark it and then drilling freehand you run the risk of error in drilling at an angle.
Its gorgeous but its not future proof. Thats great for the tiny baby/toddler clothes but you will have to redo the closet once her clothes is too big/long to fit on those rods no?
Hey Bec, like Macca81 said a couple of weeks back, don't wear rings in the shop. Some really bad things happen sometime and a bit of safety mindedness can save you countless troubles. God bless.
The finished furniture looks Scandinavian or Danish Modern. Clean lines, simple, elegant! Love it! Originally from Long Island, NY but now live in Chandler, AZ. My favorite furniture store out here is Copenhagan. You should check out their catalog online sometime. They have really nice furniture although, definitely pricey as hell!
