I haven't had my m3 MacBook Pro for 30 days and the track pad is already cracked. I had purchased apple care when I got it and am so glad I did. The only downside is having to drive almost an hour to the store and leave my MacBook there for a couple days and have to go back and pick it up. And can't forget the extra $100 I'll have to spend.
using SHR-2. Does this let me build pool size up 1 drive at a time? I had 6 x 8 tera. I changed one to 16 tera. If I add another 16 tera will it give me more capacity or is the fact that I am using shr-2 will not do that? By the way I am using a 1621+
You can do a rough calculation here www.synology.com/en-us/support/RAID_calculator But if I understand you correctly, you are replacing one of the drives with a 16TB drive; if so, then your space would stay the same. You would need to replaced at least 4 drives with 16TB drives for you to see the more storage in SHR 2
Trying to calibrate my BenQ EW3270U. Download Palette Master Element and I keep getting an error to make sure monitor is connected to my computer. Im connected to my Mac mini M1 using a USB-C. Am I able to calibrate using Palette master or is this incompatible? I'm confused on how to calibrate with my x.rite :( Any advise would be helpful
BenQ Palette Master Element or Palette Master Ultimate is made for BenQ SW line only and not any other line up. If you want to calibrate the BenQ that you have, this is the best guide to watch using Calibrite Profilier
Software development costs money; it is not free. Your claim is exaggerated. The world is acutely aware at this point that there's a war in Ukraine unless one lives under a rock. More so, the geographical location has no bearing whatsoever on the price of software development cost, and though the situation is dire there, my thoughts go out to Ukraine (I work with many companies there).
@@ArtIsRight Nonsense. We paid for the software when we bought the devices. The boxes did not indicate that you would need to pay extra for the software. They bought the manufacturer and they have to fulfill the manufacturer's obligations to support the purchased devices. Another purchased blogger.
Can you give me just a rough idea of how a MBA13 in your recommended set up would compare to a late 2016 MBP max spec? Trying to decide if it's an upgrade or if i have to go to a 14MBP
MBA 13 M3, or even the previous gen M1 or M2 would easily beat any intel Mac generation. The issue is heat and dissipation. Since Air is passively cooled, i.e., no fan, this means when the SoC gets hot, it has to throttle - aka capped the speed - frequency, so the chip would run slower, not to consumer more power, which generates heat. If you do a lot of heavy work load MBP are better.
Is your review for this coming soon? I’ve read reports of problems with drawing diagonal lines and I’m not too sure about ordering this until one gets a more definite opinion.
@@ArtIsRight Appreciate the response and look forward to your thoughts. It's also interesting looking at this product versus the Wacom Movink. I know this is helpfully a bigger screen but then the Movink could be viewed as much more portable. Even with the shoulder bag this is still a much more serious proposition weight-wise. And I'm confident that the screen and drawing side of the Wacom will be perfect. But yeah, both have their benefits.
Could you elaborate more about this "I’ve read reports of problems with drawing diagonal lines and I’m not too sure about ordering this until one gets a more definite opinion." What are you reading, what program is it being tested on, is this a freehand thing or using some tools? I you can shade some more light on this it would be great.
@@ArtIsRight To be honest right now I don’t recall the exact place - one I think was a Japanese review on RU-vid and although I couldn’t understand him it was apparent when he was drawing lines that the diagonal ones had clear jagginess to the lines, even when he use a ruler. The other I think was on a forum discussion somewhere where one person said the lines were poor on diagonals. But in any case, when you use it if the line quality is as good as Wacom then these opinions are moot and one can at least order this device with confidence. Right now I’m undecided between this and the Wacom Movink. I’m veering towards the Movink simply because it would be insanely portable and I’m already happy with a 13” display having exclusively used my iPad 12.9 for five years. Who knows though, your opinion if very positive might sway me as it is a lovely-looking product. Take care.
Thankyou for the review. I am starting my journey in Color grading so do you suggest this monitor or the Asus Proart PA278QV. Im rlly confused between the two, would appreciate it if you can help out
Dear sir I hope you can reply. I sent you a message on Facebook because out of the sudden the monitor this bank monitor doesn’t recognise the cable and I’ve tried all the buttons that the the information that you kindly provided in your video it’s not working. I don’t know what to do nobody in my city can help me.
Thanks so much for this detailed comparison! If I’m on a budget and have to buy a M2 Max. What upgrade would you recommend for huge Lightroom libraries with over 100k images? And for working with 130mb raw files? Does ssd speed more matter than ram? Especially when multitasking
I was about to upgrade my Slot 1 cards with 256GB OWC Ultra SD (was using Sony M) but after looking at the prices I saw CFexpress prices dropping lower then I saw these! I don't need the size but the download speed is what I am really excited about plus I feel safe if I upgrade to the 60mp Sony cameras later down the road... These cards paired with the OWC Ultra SD cards will be the best dual card set up for sure if you have one slot CFE & one SD... I also like the idea of user firmware upgrades. When I bought my A7IV bodies 4 of my Sandisk and 3 of my Sony G cards would not work! I had to mail them in and get replacements. It took WEEKS! Hopefully FW upgrades will be swift if there's ever a problem...
Thank you so much it didn’t work for me so I’m using the same cables as I used to do it just doesn’t work. I don’t understand what to do. What’s your email? Please? If you could kindly reply I just don’t know what to do. Thank you so so much.
I have the PG42UQ hooked up to my 2019 MacBook Pro via display port. How would I go about calibrating to Rec709 when the only profile built into display is DCI p3 and my Mac doesn’t have e dci p3?
Thanks. This really should be a more intuitive process, though. Having to search through Windows/System32/Spool/etc... it's like nothing has improved since Windows 3.11.
Very interesting and good video. I've been lucky to have the opportunity to video two family weddings with the R5C. It's awesome! The post- production can be tricky! 😂
Question about the customization software. If you changes the key settings on one computer, does it save directly on the keyboard? I want to be able to have the customization on the keyboard itself if I decide I want to use it on another computer. Microsoft has a keyboard manager on PowerToys, but it is only on that one computer. If I decide to use my keyboard on another computer, the settings dont save, and I would have to make the changes again on the other computer.
That I am not sure, I would search this answer on google. Based on my understanding, you can export the settings you made and load it on to another computer.
Having more brightness levels is nice on a monitor because displays (the backlight) tends to dim over the years. Really old monitors can't hit the target but that's after many years. However, monitors that were "dim" to begin with will fail to hit it possibly in years. This is more of an issue with laptops. So brighter is generally speaking "better"... obviously keeping up with the display with a hardware calibrator.
It’s really frustrating that when I assign number one on my puck during the calibration process, it doesn’t actually work. If I want to switch to SRGB and push number two, then I push number one again. It goes to BenQ’s default profile not my calibrated profile thank you Support says this is normal behavior, which seems kind of silly to even, use the puck when calibrating
Let me clarify, when calibration you are not assigning the calibration slot or number to the puck, far from it, you are choosing the hardware calibration slot to store the 3D LUT in, that is simply what is happening. The puck has nothing to do with any of this process. If you want to learn how to get the most of your puck watch this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NvnHZW-HToA.html
@@ArtIsRight thanks I’ll check out the link. My hope was to be able to toggle between the calibrated profile and srgb. And once I click a button on the puck the only way to get back to the calibrated profile is manually every time I turn on the computer.
It will only work on OWC card, this is one of those where everything has to play together, the card/controller itself has to support this feature, the card reader needs a chip that support this feature for the software to work.
Hey boss!! Great Great Review!! Quick Question!! Whats the difference between this 06 and the 05? Is it just that the 05 is "Mac friendly". I like the black finish on the 05ua.
They are both Mac compatible and are really close to each other. The only variation is color gamut coverage and USB C power. I would give this video a watch ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-om6Hat8w32Y.html
with VR/spatial video 60fps is the bare minimum otherwise things do not look very real or good. If the technology allowed, i'm sure we would do 120fps! But for now it's too early
@@ArtIsRight So I guess it is an issue Topaz has to solve? I'll ask them if they plan to do it. On my M1 Mac mini, rendering in Topaz video Ai, rendering in "video Ai" takes an eternity...
It also tasks long on the newer M chips, and even the Ultra is not that fast. Based on my testing, you have the best machine for Topaz Video AI encoding, price (of the machine) per performance-wise. And most likely, Topaz will tell you that it has already been optimized. You have to remember that using engineering/dev to optimize a program is time-consuming, costly and there are no shiny new features to sell the software. This is the same conundrum that Adobe does, so Topaz is not unique in this regard.
Hi Art, I am currently using M2 Max 16" 64GB RAM 1TB SSD 12 Core CPU 38 Core GPU with BenQ SW240 monitor connected via Displyaport to Thunderbolt connection. Since my purchase, I have been noticing that anything that I run on External display is extremely slow, be it RU-vid video playing on monitor or a small app like Apple notes. It is just super laggy and also choppy. It's like I am using 2011 MacBook with no computing power, but as soon as I work on apple display everything works fine. I have tried different ports, couple different cables, also used different laptop. Everything works fine with other laptop but whenever I am using Mac and monitor, it's a big issue. It is getting a bit ridiculous. Can you help?
Mine is usually about 3.5, which is not great but not too bad either. 5 is huge. I have not tested this in a while, I'll give it another go. Follow up with a new comment thread sometime late next week or dm me.

people are not even looking but 16 M2P 12/19 are almost on every test better than m3, and it's 'one gen past' also, cheaper.
I would give it a try for $20, I know they upped the price, I was unaware of this. As far as bugs, what specific one are you hearing about? feel free to dm me
Hello, Can you tell me how long is the video test for an upscalling video in 720p ? because you put 8min with tha MBA but how much longer the video ? thank you
I have a LogiTech MX2 mouse which I connected via Dongle - the mouse pointer would stick sometimes. So I used Bluetooth and it works flawlessly with my M1Ultra MacStudio
