Unboxing Xencelabs Pen Display 24 is an awesome display with everything included in the box. You don't have to think about what you need besides the display; everything is there. This is a 24" pen display with a really promising color spec, which I will be testing out in a future video, and I'll also provide a calibration guide later on. Find out about what comes in the box and my initial impression in this video. Links to the Pen Display 24 and other Xencelabs products below

I'm salivating, 99% Adobe RGB and so good at so many things... Good to see competition for Wacom. Eager to see the color calibration result and some line tests (for wobble, lag, etc) and some other "real life" tests. Overall, seems like they take good care of details for pro work.

that is coming in my full review, but here's a quick sneak; it is awesome color-wise. Other aspect works really well. Still doing more testing and trials....

Just wondering if you are still planning to give us your review of the BenQ PD3225U that you unboxed about a month ago. Thanks for all the thorough product reviews and coverage.

Thank you for the delightful introduction in the video, especially the upbeat and welcoming intro music! I've been a subscriber since the M1 MacBook release and have already enabled notifications. While I understand the intention behind frequent reminders to subscribe, perhaps they could be minimized for those of us who are long-time followers. This might make the viewing experience more enjoyable and less repetitive. Regarding the pen display, I've found that similar products can be a bit strenuous on the neck. Additionally, the matte display might not be ideal for photo editing tasks due to its limited contrast, and the 60Hz refresh rate may not meet everyone's needs. These are just my personal observations based on my specific requirements and experiences. A gentle suggestion might be to let the quality of your content naturally encourage viewers to subscribe, reducing the need for frequent subscription prompts. This could potentially enhance viewer satisfaction and loyalty.

I'm afraid RU-vid does not have a system to serve different videos (yet) depending on the audience status (subscribed, not subscribed). Even if the channel author would make two videos (a ton of work, extra editing, upload time and bandwidth, etc), - no channel author that I know of does this- I don't recall RU-vid having a system to allow to serve one version or another of the video to the visitor depending on if being subscribed or not. So... if anything, this would be a thing/feature to be asked to RU-vid, really. You are seeing it video after video (like happens in all the channels I frequent) but the newcomers might see this video once and that's it, and it is studied that reminding of it does work, there's a lot of marketing advice pointing in that direction. In a long video, IMO the number of times he asks for it is relatively low (increasing it could damage the thing, though I have seen way worse). Yes, pen displays can hurt the neck and back of some people, specially those not being specifically trained to adapt to a pen display (and even if so, it forces a type of pose, more noticeable after long sessions, there's kind of no way around it). This is why I use pen tablets (classic "wacoms"). Xencelabs was first known by its pen tablets, indeed, and like with this, aiming for the professional consumer, in my opinion, rather like the cheaper market, like other brands did. I do have though a pen display (Huion), for "some use", fewer hours. I just do the most of my work on a Wacom pen tablet. I mean, there's always ways to deal with these issues. :). About refresh rate and matte/glossy, very much depends on the type of professional usage. I am an illustrator, and matte screens, besides not forcing one to deal with reflections that make perception of tones different depending on body posture (I know you can have controlled lighting, but in some situations that's not a solution. And I care about lights, I even have 6500K bulbs for best color on screen, calibration for D65, etc), when well calibrated (by hardware, with a colorimeter) the matte factor indeed helps in emulating more accurately the color printed on paper. The current tech allows enough sharpness and color accuracy despite being matte. The contrast is most often depending on the way they made the panel, the panel tech (if it's QLED, VA, IPS...), on the black levels (at least for a sensation of contrast), if the panel is 6bit+FRC (ouch...!), 8bit, or 10 /12 bit via internal monitor LUT (would help with contrast ratio, smoother gradients, and also to get more tones, better calibration) etc, etc, rather than the external coating being so much of a factor, at least it is more like this, these days. In the past matte screens were more of a problem (always talking about the best current tech, not lower mainstream products). When it's well implemented, it's not an issue. While glossy reflection can be a real pain for an illustrator, painter, professional game artist, etc, working at pixel level for many hours a day. Matte now, by many professionals, is almost as much required as a a panel having good uniformity. The basic refresh rate is totally fine for these professions, but would be a problem for serious video editing and animation. IMO, this pen display focuses more on the first group of professions I mentioned. Photographers also... they have been using for a while expensive Wacom Cintiq 24" and 32" pen displays, and as far as I remember it, all those are matte screens, currently.

@@3polygons I appreciate your point. To clarify, I wasn't suggesting the creation of separate videos. Based on my experience, the channels I subscribe to typically don't start episodes by asking for a subscription. Personally, I'm more inclined to subscribe when the content itself is genuinely interesting. While we all appreciate Art's work, it's important to remember that subscriptions should primarily benefit viewers, not creators. I prefer a more natural approach to subscription prompts, recognizing that some viewers may choose not to subscribe, and respecting their autonomy in making that decision.
