Welcome, I am Mel Meanley, an animator and fan of Doctor who. I find it tragic that many of it's first stories from the 1960's are still missing, or that many of its greatest stories and actors are limited to the smallest of screen time on the actual show, I wish that I could sit down and relax watching these stories like any other. Watch the 6th doctor and Evelyn Smythe walking through the streets of 16th Century london, or the 8th Doctor and Charlotte Pollard exploring the mysterious edwardian mansion at the chimes of midnight. Or the 1st Doctor and companions scaling mountain sides with Marco Polo, while a comspiracy unfolds.
The thought that for all there potential they will never be watchable is infurating beyond belief. so allow me to animate what I can, under the idea of these being good enough quality that we can watch these as though they are official.. and maybe in the future i can get them official released? Since what'd be better than having a Job doing what I love.
This is so much better than the newly released "official" version from the BBC. Watching the Blu Ray right and and it suuuuuuucks. This one is so much better. All of the characters are closer to the original actors.
Thus detailed animation is amazing! From the previews, i already doubt the just-released BBC cartoon will relate to this fan masterpiece, though ill find out in a few days.
The dark atmosphere really lends something to this. But the new really isn't awful - at least not in black and white - I think in colour it might look a bit much.
Makes me wonder if J K Rowling saw this as a little girl, remembered it and reused it in the first Harry Potter novel as I've always been reminded of the Magic Mirror (I forget what it's called) that Harry looks into and see's his deppest desire. Also the Doctor's warning to Steven and Dodo is a lot like Dumbuledor's (sorry if I spelt it wrong as I'm not a Harry Potter fan, but I do like to watch some of the films from time to time) warning to Harry...
I'll be using this in place of the BBC version with regards to part 1 for parts 2 to 3 I'll use my CD, and yes it is the first release from the early 2000s and for part 4 I'll use my 'Lost in Time' DVD. Good job and well done

It makes the new Drwho (dancing with the stars ! ) look so bad i rather just see quality as in this 17 min video is better than the last 20 years put together ...Great work ! impressive !

This looks so much better than the up and coming child like effort the BBC are releasing. Pity its been done in colour only and not b/w but I'm certainly not complaining about this brilliant bit of animation

Yes, add me to your fan list. Seriously why are the BBC so useless so often? This is superb because it isn't overkill and like every other commentator, I agree your work is far superior to what was officially released - that was an embarrassment - right up there with Dimensions in Time and the single Doctor in Distress. You can rightly be proud of this. Well done and congratulations.
I have two questions. One, will you ever continue to recreate more parts of the Celestial Toymaker? Two, where can I buy the DVD for Doctor Who - a meeting on the common?

Dinopuff, this is simply beyond words. I am upset what BBC Worldwide are giving us, whilst you presented this!!? They seriously can't be applauding themselves? Motion Capture!!? Seriously nobody moves like that!? Apparently they have improved the technique since 'Web of Fear: Episode 3.' Not by much by the looks of it. It is so criminal they can present what they are, whilst this animation you achieve with less resources just blows their efforts out of the water. It is a tragedy. Thank you for this' Dino. Again, just amazing.
Could nitpick a few things but it’s amazing to look at and elevates the story. Wish someone could employ you to finish this story, do the other missing episodes, even redo some of the animations that have room for improvement.
I really hope you animate the other episodes. This was brilliant. It still has that weird sort of “wobble” effect that I usually see in animations. I’m not exactly sure how to describe it but it’s the movement of the characters that just makes them feel a bit off. I heard of this from MrTardis’ video and I was a little worried it’s be kinda bad because of what I’ve seen from the official animated episodes but I was pleasantly surprised :D
You should animate the best adventures of Big Finish, I can imagine an animation of your style adapting Spare Parts, or Storm Warning, it would be amazing, keep it up, you are getting better and better.
Beautiful animation, keep it up! I'm pretty sure that's not how "An Unearthly Child" started, so I guess that Target's novelization of the Daleks was the one that David Withaker totally rewrote, if I remember correctly he rewrote it since there were no rebroadcasts and since there was no way to watch the episodes he adapted it as he pleased, I could be wrong, if someone knows the complete story could you share it with me?
Having watched it, there's no way an ordinary recon like Loose Cannon's could ever have captured the tension. If I could offer one piece of feedback for improvement is Steven doesn't really look like Peter Purves. Sort that it would be perfect. I was a bit gutted there wasn't an Episode 2 😢
