Here is the Second part of an animated recreation of the Celestial Toyroom Story, Thank you all again for the immense support these videos have gotten. I Hope you enjoy.
Also quiet obviously im interested in making animated releases of the audio officially, So if anyone from the BBC or Big finish is watching and is interested in making these too, please consider this as my portfolio.
This Projects idea was initially concepted in 2 August 2022
3D Training began on the 3rd of October. (This is my first full 3D Animated Project and so training was required)
And production began on 1st November
Finishing on 21st Febuary
Doctor who is Owned by the BBC and the Celestial Toymaker is written by Brian Hayles
Audio is an edited version of the loose cannon LC36 Reconstruction of the Celestial Toy room.

I always hated that the clowns cheated in this game when the toymaker is supposed to always follow the rules, but it makes sense if you remember that the clowns are actual people, trapped forever and desperate to win. The toymaker isn't cheating, the clowns are, behind the toymaker's back!

The games are normally rigged to the Toymaker’s favour so normally he’d allow them to cheat
@ForgottenFafnir

@@redcr33perproductions Are they? I believe he has a thing about cheating. He might make games that favors himself, sort of like how you can never lose at Tictactoe if you go first, but he never cheats. You can always win if you're smart, e.g: Saying youll play Tictactoe if he lets you go first, or calling him out on it and saying it isnt a game if hes certain to win.

One detail I love with this is how you portrayed the Toymaker's rage at cheating. With that being alluded to even in the recent 'The Giggle' episode, you really made the Toymaker far more intimidating with his resetting of the game, as though he's barely restraining himself from being even crueler.
@dinopuff7354
@dinopuff7354 7 месяцев назад
thank you very much! something fun though is that... that wasn't in the original, heck in the original the toymaker its made out to seem the toymaker cheats! I could not let that be so used audio from elsewhere in the story to make the scene.

@@dinopuff7354It worked brilliantly, I suspected he was less honest in the original but the way you've shown him makes for a terrifying portrayal. To see him reset EVERYTHING, force the blindfold on, and personally overview the game. Dinopuff, this is simply beyond words. I am upset what BBC Worldwide are giving us, whilst you presented this!!? They seriously can't be applauding themselves? Motion Capture!!? Seriously nobody moves like that!? Apparently they have improved the technique since 'Web of Fear: Episode 3.' Not by much by the looks of it. It is so criminal they can present what they are, whilst this animation you achieve with less resources just blows their efforts out of the water. It is a tragedy. Thank you for this' Dino. this really sold me on the concept of the toymaker, also your artistic liberty in some areas took my by surprise in the best way. the entire scene where the toymaker learns his toys are cheating on his behalf making a proper angry god, but instead of punishment, simply has them try again. and uses all his godly power just to force two clowns to try again is chilling when he forces on the blindfold and just puts the other in the tube. even in the end Steven doesn't even feel like he won, just trying to focus in the job at hand, cause there's no other way to handle it. the animation, while only having two or three errors I could spot, was just a great companion piece to the audio. I hope you do more of these, or at least do something new we could get behind. hope your portfolio here's gets picked up in some way. 10/10

Mel, I am so delighted to have discovered your channel. I am utterly stunned by your animation skills, you have such a flair and instinct for creating drama and atmosphere. You have really captured the actors character, expression and given it fluidity. I'm old enough to remember watching the original story, and for it's time it was a radical and creative departure for the series. They clearly did their best, but with all goodwill the producers never had the time, budget or technical advances to do the ambitious storyline justice. I really think your version shows intelligence, love and respect for the material, and I'm sure your interpretation is so much more what Brian Hayles and Donald Tosh must have imagined whilst they were writing it. Please complete the story for all your hundreds of fans out there who can't wait to see more. I have seen previews of the BBC official animation version and it is not even in the same league as your talent, their characters look like Gerry Anderson puppets and with about as much emotion too. Keep up the fantastic work, Mel, and have a great Xmas and New Year. Cheers, DJ

Fantastic. Love the new subtext of the Toymaker and his creations' dynamic. The animation does remind me a lot of the 2002 MTV Spider-man show, particularly during the Toymaker close ups. To be honest, I much prefer the characterisation of the Toymaker presented here than in the original version of the story. His anger towards the cheating of the game and the demonstration of him resetting it and forcing them to play fair makes him so much more interesting to me. The idea that he’s this limitlessly powerful cosmic entity, but he takes such an offence to any form of cheating, even when it’s against who are technically his opponents.

Having seen glimpses of The Giggle and watched the official trailer of The Celestial Toymaker animation, I have watched your animations over and over again with enjoyment and appreciation. After reading several comments and looking back at your work, I must agree that your version of the animation trumps the BBC’s. Having said that, I come to that conclusion for these reasons: Your character models are spot on to the original look of the live action version. Referring to one of your comments or a viewer’s as being more “humanizing” to which I agree. The character models for the official BBC animation were, let’s say, out of place and disproportionate. If the BBC were open and wise to view your works, it would be a crime for them not to hire you. Your work speaks volumes and holds up to the standard of what Doctor Who fans want. To that end, I have endless praise for your skills, talents, and passion. I pray you get picked up by the BBC and get the job you deserve. Keep pushing towards your success and always aim high for the sky. Whatever opportunities are presented before you, go for it.

You're right, David, they weren't, what Mel Meanley has accomplished here is far and away bigger and better than anything the original meagre budget and cramped sets of a TV studio could create at that period. I love the dynamic graphic novel style used here, this has been so cleverly storyboarded in sympathy to the old soundtrack. I had my tenth birthday in the middle of this story when it was first broadcast, and it did stick in my mind as a series of episodes that were quite different for Dr Who. Michael Gough was sensational as The Toymaker, and really conveyed a lot of brooding menace. The animation here does a perfect job of recreating his nuanced performance with subtle little sneers and the lift of a heavy eyebrow. 'The mind robber' was another story that delved into a similar surreal environment that I loved.
