I saw this one here in the Philippines and I was in awe at first but when I ask for the price they told me its around 10,000 pesos. I can buy 4 good tent for that money 😂
Hi there thanks for commenting. Where did you see this in the Philippines if you don't mind me asking. They're only sold through our own website! I'd like to know more!
Thanks @Mutley00735 ! Amazon is sold out but we have plenty of stock at our online shop www.zeltershelter.com/shop if you have any questions at all please let me know. ✌️
Hi Michael if you've got big feet or stretch out lengthwise it will be snug. I'm 6'4" and fit with my backpack as a pillow. On your side, or as a tarp shelter you've got options. Let me know if you ever want to know more about the gear! ✌️
Thanks for the comment. What's the frustrating part for you? Is it the way you fold it? The fixings at the front? We always value constructive feedback from users and take it seriously - Good feedback and suggestions help us make improvements to the gear we make.
@@boathemian7694 Thanks so much! If you ever get the urge, we ship there no problem. I'd throw in a free shirt for you! Have an excellent day and thanks for the sub. ♥
Hi there! That's great to hear. We're interested in making it, but the quantity required and cost is a bit heavy right now. Our Mystery Green colour keys right in with the Multicam colour pallette, and blends in to a lot of settings. Maybe this would tie you over? If you want to order one, message me back and I'll set you free shipping for this comment. Cool? 🏆🎉
Thank you for the green version, not all in orange. It might be useful hiding from the mark of the Beast..... here soon. I would be interested in a longer and wider 2 person version, with a bug net or nets, that cannot be worn as a poncho, that has a bucket groundsheet with a far higher hydrostatic head. I wish you well with your useful and potential life saving product. Maybe add a strong loop at the top of the apex to support a pole as well, so if it deflates there is a back up.
Hi Kenneth! Thank you for the great feedback and helpful suggestions. Really appreciate hearing from you and we're headed in the right direction. Have a great day. 👌
@@zeltershelter yes the drag about other storm shelters is if it rains for hours how do you keep dry sitting on the corners. With this you can go asleep in it
@@zeltershelter Thank U for the Info 👍 Love it will order it at Ur page Shared it with Backpacker Wilderness great tactical Bushcrafter He would sure make a Presentation If U want him to cause He also has an extra Gear Channel we can trust and is always looking for great new Gear ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZDD1ncoZ0fI.html Greetings from Vienna ✌️
Hi there Sam! The Instructions are on this page: www.zeltershelter.com/instructions-on-how-to-use-your-zelter-shelter-videos-photos-tips-tricks/ Maybe you can download, screenshot, or study anything you need to know in advance from there. The drybag for each product will also have graphical instructions printed right on the side too. If you ever want to know anything, just shoot us a message on any social media or email hello@zeltershelter.com 👌
Hehe yeah thanks Ace! I've got a Swagman roll and Helikon has a Zelter Shelter. I think the product photos for each made it inevitable. I love their clothing and it would be cool to collaborate some time. Maybe I should get back in touch! 🤔
It's too small. You can't move once inside from your knees down and the condensation from a cold night is lethally bad. Never tried it as a poncho but it fails as a 1 man shelter
Hi Ben. Sorry you experienced some condensation. Thanks for sharing your feedback. We learn a lot from what customers say. Most people report that condensation wasn't a problem. Did you try opening the hood or the top zip a little for more ventilation? It's a small shelter as a function of it's design. Do you mind if I ask if you are a tall person? Depending on your height you may have more or less space inside. I'm 6'4" (1.92m) and fit fine with my backpack. Hopefully you can try it out in different conditions or with some of the other pitching options to make more space. 👌
It's arrived but this video doesn't do a good job of explaining how to wear it as a poncho, I've been trying to work it out for 2 hours and still flummoxed. As I digest info different to most people I need a step by step guide, otherwise it's useless and will have to go back as can't figure it out.
Hi there Ben! Sorry to hear you're having trouble finding the Wearable mode. Have you tried spreading it on the floor first to compare the layout to the instructions printed on the drybag? We try hard to get the graphic instructions on the drybag to represent the steps you need to do and where you might need to fold or hook it. You can message me here or on hello@zeltershelter.com and I'll do my best to help make sure you nail it. I want to help.
I like using the airframe and all that but this looks like it also would work well. I have a waterproof blanket that could lay under that for a nice floor.
I wish someone would show themselves actually sleeping in it. And I'd like to know whether a mat would fit in it? And having used poncho tarps before I'd love to know how people solve the problem of keeping dry while you take your coat off to turn it into a tent and how you manage getting out to wee without getting soaked? Apart from that, mucho fun.
I understand that you are developing this concept as you go along and as funding allows. I just wondered that with lots of UK Wild Campers complaining about Midges, if you have any plans to sew in a fly screen/mossie net into the entrance? I subscribed out of interest after watching Step Away from the Screen's review of your product.
Hi @Robert's - Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! I posted a video with a great method of attaching a bug net to a Zelter Shelter. Works for Tent mode and easily adaptable to other setups. Link below. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VvskpOY4VNY.html
I love your innovative concept of the personal shelter system.👍👍 Perhaps, I was the first person to purchase an upgraded version of Zelter Shelter here in S. Korea;) I really appreciate your effort and passion. Mine is still in good condition. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-57e75CofBwA.html
Just received mine. I've a canvas storm tent, same shape, but heavy, and a very lightweight dome. This comes somewhere in-between the two. However not tested it yet. Expensive, but seems we'll made.
Thank you for asking! We use 75D nylon with a breathable waterproof TPU lamination. Professional grade materials and construction. All seams sealed and taped, welded reinforcements to seal the stitched tie-down points. The inflatable bladder is tough 210D material used in life jackets and marine rescue gear. Everything is assembled with care by professionals. 👌
Just got mine and after messing around it occured to me that i always take hiking poles with me ...so although the inflatable stuff is nifty it is unneccesary if you have poles. This would make the poncho a bit less bulky.
The inflatable bladder is removable if you ever want to try that out. You just un-snap it and pull it out from the sleeves. You can still pitch it like a tent or Tarp without the inflatable - you just use your poles and add cordage.
No problems so far.... You have a fair question there though. You'd want to make sure they are fully open when setting up. This product uses quality zips from SBS, an excellent and trustworthy supplier.
Got mine in the post . i always carry 2 coats because i find 2 coats stops the elements better than 1 , now i only need carry 1 proper coat and bonus the tent weight is no longer there on my back. looking forward to trying it out on the cape wrath trail this year cheers
I would have thought it would have been easier to take it off first to set it up....but yeah,..great modern day concept of the old Poncho tent idea... Ideal emergency shelter for walkers who don't carry tents
Hi there. I'm glad to hear you like the concept! Of course one can set it up quick and easy without ever wearing it. Being able to transform a Zelter into a tent while wearing it is a cool feature for some users, so here's how that works. If you want to "see" more setups, then James at @survivaldads even did a video setting his Zelter up as a tent in complete darkness.
I love the product and price on amazon but being a bit of a goth Id love it to be in Midnight Black, any chance of that being on amazon for the same price or if I bought the one on amazon a black version being sent in its place? appreciate any reply :)
Heheh you never know until you ask these things! The black ones have usually been made in low numbers and because the material is exclusive to us, it's all custom dyed. We pay a surcharge for the black ones because of the low numbers so they historically cost more to make. Clearly the black is desirable to folks so we'll make more, but they won't be available til late in the year with all the stuff going on these days. FWIW Our Mystery Green is a good neutral colour that keys in with MultiCam and Amazon is choosing to sell theirs for basically half price. My friend if you pick one up now or later I've got your back.
@@zeltershelter Thank you so much for the reply, I messaged on Instagram also as I didn't expect you to see this :) I am so torn right now! lol I mean that price is insane but I love that black, I could wait but I can't afford the original price...nightmare 😅 I will sleep on it and see what my mind uses to justify it in time :)
You get all the functionality of a regular tarp and it also makes a fully-enclosed tent. The Wearable version goes even farther! They are being sold silly cheap on www.amazon.co.uk so now is good time to check it out! When Amazon sells their stock the price will be going back up, so if anyone was wondering....
@@Nobby77 Hey wow! Thank you, that's great to hear. Glad to have you as a Zelter customer... I hope the shelter serves you well. It's perfect for low-profile wildcamping adventures. Let me know how you get on.
I really like that your solution is so simple and can be done with any net, not only with a product that only you make, that has been over engineered and cost twice a standard bug net (Apple style). Says a lot of good things about you as a company.
You should market this more. I've been watching videos on Bug out/in, survival, prepping etc for months and months and this is the very first time I see this! Give away a few to some youtubers to review!
Thanks for the enthusiasm! I'm on a mission to build up the awareness, so hopefully more and more people will know about the Zelter Shelter concept and the follow-up products we've been quietly working on in the background. Have a great weekend and please do keep in touch. 👌
Love it! He's inside quietly munching crackers... Then when the time is right - Boom - 200lb butterfly comes out, stretches, scratches his beard, and looks for somewhere to take a leak. Beautiful nature. 🔥😂👌
We had something like this in the army called a poncho. You use some 550 cord or a bungie to close the hood up. You can then use it like a tarp. As an added bonus the modular sleep system comes with a gortex bivy so you can just have the lower half of you stick out from under the tarp leaving more room to keep your gear dry.
Hi there. Zelter Shelters currently are available in the Mystery Green colour seen in this video. It's a great neutral green that keys in with the MultiCam pallette. 👌 We also have a black and orange colour, but they are presently sold out.
Hi Tomy - Yeah no problem! Amazon UK does international shipping at a crazy low price right now. www.amazon.co.uk/ZELTER-SHELTER-featured-Channel-Buy/dp/B081DD8TDG You can also order direct from our shop at www.zeltershelter.com but we can't match that Amazon price. Have a great day - keep in touch!
Sooo ... you're wearing it in a downpour, then need to make camp, so you take it off to make a tent and get drenched, then get back into it soaking wet. That sound about right?
Well... You can turn it into a tent without taking it off, if you want to. The clue is hidden in the title! This video shows how to do it. There are a few ways to set up a Zelter Shelter. 😉👌
Soooo....if you actually watch the video, he doesn't take the ponch off. He just adapts it while in it and sits down to convert it to the shelter. And the outer remains the outer so still dry.
