it should be interesting to see what happens with the larryboy movie that we are getting in 2026…will the og voice actors return for that, will Phil or Mike get to write it? what type of animation will it get? for now until we get more news im not trusting it…
I always loved the character designs in the Animated Adventures. I really loved the villains. Especially Greta and Alvin! It’s a shame there weren’t more episodes because they were clearly cooking.
This is truly the classic and legendary LarryBoy that produced the awesomeness of the character. However, the one thing that bugs me is how Junior Asparagus is the one who defeats Both the Fib and the Rumor Weed. I understand it makes sense in context, but it kind of degrades LarryBoy's final role in the plot. At least in my opinion. LarryBoy wouldn't get most of the credit until The Bad Apple episode.
Both villains used some form of sin to gain power. Once the people who gave them power corrected what they had done, those villains lost their source of power. The fib fed on Junior's lie until he told the truth and took away his strength. The rumor about Alfred that the weed spread was overpowered when people started spreading nice things about Alfred. Since the rumor was made it into a big monster, it couldn't do a thing.
A comparison I have made between Bad Apple and the Larry-Boy episodes from the 1990s: Fib and Rumor Weed represent the Batman films directed by Tim Burton. Fib-Batman (1989) Rumor Weed-Batman Returns (mostly due to the sewer scene) Bad Apple on the other hand, the shift in tone seems comparable to the Batman films directed by the late Joel Schumacher, particularly Batman Forever and Batman and Robin.
Yeah, I don't know why I got my first nightmare from both of these Larryboy specials. I was perfectly fine when watching them. Then once I went to bed, my nightmare starts with me rewatching the fib special and a giant rumor weed grabbing me from the end of the hallway in my house and trying to eat me. This was about… 15 or so years ago. But, it was my first nightmare. So, it's a permanent memory to me.
As someone who's recently gotten back into Veggietales and binging the series as a 24-year-old to relive old memories, it's really cool that people are still making videos about this show. And really good videos at that, this is one of the best first videos to come out of a channel I've seen in recent memory. That's a sub from me.
i kinda wish someone on youtube would try to remake it but because of copyright we cant do that but in my mind i kinda still wish that someone would at least try to remake veggietales but maybe with fruit or somthing but alass its all laid to rest
Larry failing at yodeling is a confusing plot hole. Larry: "But I don't know How to yodel!" Also Larry: *Plays as the Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps*
If you wanted to be truly comprehensive in the history. Around the time of the 2D animated series there were a several short chapter books released for Larryboy. Some were even turned into episodes like the Yoddlenaper and the good the bad and the eggly. I remember this because these books were a big stepping stone for me to read chapter books as a kid
perhaps my biggest pet peeve with the early era of larryboy was that he wasn't victorious, he didnt actually save the day or beat the bad guy THAT credit goes to junior asparagus, now before anyone says it YES i get there was a reason behind all that but why couldn't they have written the theme of the story to revolve AROUND larry boy like they did in the cartoon adventures...Michael bay wasnt even a thing yet and ALREADY he was inspiring other filmmakers also whatever drunken moronic low life ignormous came up with the idea of the fib character, id like to give em what for for traumatizing my childhood! what were they on they they even concepted such a character!
Wow, you are the first channel I have found to dedicate a single video to reviewing every LarryBoy episode of The VeggieTales Show on their own back to back! You did a good job with that. Did you like seeing Arvin Flurry return reformed in other episodes of The VeggieTales Show? I did. I disagree with you about The League of Incredible Vegetables "blending in" with other VeggieTales videos. October 25, 2023, 6:18am
If we gave Phil Vischer as many millions of dollars as it takes to buy Big Idea Studios back from Classic Media/Dreamworks/Comcast, LarryBoy and VeggieTales may not be dead forever. 🥶 Unless Big Idea when it is inactive, has a higher retail price value than I think it does. It may seem that Comcast has killed VeggieTales for now, but maybe not for much longer if enough people who share Phil's faith in God give him what he needs to buy back the rights to VeggieTales. I still would like to see what Phil Vischer, Lisa Vischer, Mike Nawrocki and Cydney Trent have moved on to make next in other venues after The VeggieTales Show, because I liked Mike Nawrocki's Kickstarter for an animated series adaptation of his Dead Sea Squirrels Books, and I am very disappointed that we have not heard boo about this in 2 years. 😢 Did Mike Nawrocki just give up on the kickstarter and not want to animate his books? Hmmm...so, are you going to make any more videos about non-VeggieTales things to increase your subscriber count? October 25, 2023, 6:12am
Even if the company wasn't gone for bankruptcy How is it even possible for them to do a live action movie? Everyone in the veggietales universe is a vegetable there's zero humans in this universe not counting the live action kids with questions videos calls letters etcetera oh and by the way speaking of the live action kids with Bob and Larry getting video calls from real life children asking for help this is like a Christian version of team umizoomi anyway if they were to make a live action movie of it it would just be a smurfs rip off were the veggietales characters are actually animated they start off living in their world then go threw a portal to the real world still animated but in live action world.
