Not gonna lie, Rumor Weed is my personal favorite Larry-Boy episode. The music, the cinematography, the animation, even the pacing felt cinematic.

This era was when Larryboy peaked for me. His design had darker shades, his shape was more sharp, he was more serious. The only downside to this era is that he’s completely useless at stopping the antagonists.

2:43 fun fact: this episode was released in April 1997 the same year I was born.

Out of all the VeggieTales episodes that could have gotten a movie made out of, Larry Boy is one of them. I love The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything movie, but they already had their shine in Jonah.

The Rumour Weed Song man! That’s one of my favourite VeggieTales songs and one of the most memorable in the whole series!

I've always thought they should have gone down hard with a Larry Boy movie. It should have been the 2nd movie to capitalize on the Superhero genre that started being more in what 2008? Not Pirates. That kinda bankrupted them. Pirates of Caribbean wasn't even all that popular when it came out, and I don't even remember the characters being liked even when Jonah came out. The caterpillar was all anyone ever talked about with that movie. It was all Spider-Man 3 and Batman Begins in 2008 and it's a shame they don't do Larry Boy the movie to this day. But now they are hardcore kids or well... baby friendly mode unfortunately. Same with Bibleman...

This was amazing! Can't wait for the next one! First LarryBoy experience for me was the original Rumor Weed VHS! If you pick up a VeggieTales reissue VHS tape from 1999 to 2001, chances are it will have a trailer at the beginning, making it rather over-advertized in my opinion. And if you're a VeggieTales collector like WhoopDoo's Veggie Stuff, that trailer will get annoying rather quickly LOL🤣🤣🤣

The biggest problems with the initial two films is the role of Larry-Boy. At times, He feels like a background character in his own movies. And the fact both films share way too many similar plot beats. Rumor Weed edges it out purely because of it’s execution.

The FIb From Outer Space was always my favorite but man Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed is fantastic too. Two of the best things to come out of the 90s imo

As someone who's recently gotten back into Veggietales and binging the series as a 24-year-old to relive old memories, it's really cool that people are still making videos about this show. And really good videos at that, this is one of the best first videos to come out of a channel I've seen in recent memory. That's a sub from me.

Imitation Krabs was pretty much the same as Krab-Borg, and it was made and/or released around the same time as Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed.

Yeah, I don't know why I got my first nightmare from both of these Larryboy specials. I was perfectly fine when watching them. Then once I went to bed, my nightmare starts with me rewatching the fib special and a giant rumor weed grabbing me from the end of the hallway in my house and trying to eat me. This was about… 15 or so years ago. But, it was my first nightmare. So, it's a permanent memory to me.

I remember Larry-Boy from Veggietales episodes

Both villains used some form of sin to gain power. Once the people who gave them power corrected what they had done, those villains lost their source of power. The fib fed on Junior's lie until he told the truth and took away his strength. The rumor about Alfred that the weed spread was overpowered when people started spreading nice things about Alfred. Since the rumor was made it into a big monster, it couldn't do a thing.

Holy cow, that was the vhs copy of Dave and the Giant Pickle I had!

This is truly the classic and legendary LarryBoy that produced the awesomeness of the character. However, the one thing that bugs me is how Junior Asparagus is the one who defeats Both the Fib and the Rumor Weed. I understand it makes sense in context, but it kind of degrades LarryBoy's final role in the plot. At least in my opinion. LarryBoy wouldn't get most of the credit until The Bad Apple episode.

Of all the Larryboy episodes that they made, I mainly like all four of the ones that are part of the original Veggietales, I did sort of like the cartoon series a bit along with 321 penguins, but I decided that I prefer him cgi, (which I mainly like Veggietales over the other two direct-to-video shows: 321 penguins and the cartoon Larryboy). That would be of course Larryboy and the fib from outer space, Larryboy and the rumour weed, Larryboy and the bad apple and the league of incredible vegetables. Any other ones from Veggietales that are my favourites (and that I only like too) are where’s god when I’m scared, god wants me to forgive them, are you my neighbour, rack shack & Benny, Dave and the giant pickle, the toy that saved Christmas, very silly songs, Josh and the big wall, Madame blueberry, the end of silliness, king George and the ducky, Esther the girl who became queen, Lyle the kindly Viking, the ultimate silly song countdown, Jonah a Veggietales movie, the star of Christmas, the wonderful world of auto-tainment, the ballad of little Joe, an Easter carol, a snoodle’s tale, sumo of the opera, for bonus favourites Bob and Larry’s how to draw and veg-o-Rama jukebox, Duke and the great pie war, Minnesota Cuke and the search for Samson’s hairbrush, lord of the beans, Sheerluck Holmes and the golden ruler, Gideon tuba warrior, Moe and the big exit, god made you special, the pirates who don’t do anything movie, Saint Nicholas, twas the night before Easter, princess and the popstar, the penniless princess and the little house that stood.

perhaps my biggest pet peeve with the early era of larryboy was that he wasn't victorious, he didnt actually save the day or beat the bad guy THAT credit goes to junior asparagus, now before anyone says it YES i get there was a reason behind all that but why couldn't they have written the theme of the story to revolve AROUND larry boy like they did in the cartoon adventures...Michael bay wasnt even a thing yet and ALREADY he was inspiring other filmmakers also whatever drunken moronic low life ignormous came up with the idea of the fib character, id like to give em what for for traumatizing my childhood! what were they on they they even concepted such a character!
