Great video, Richard! Thanks for sharing it. I was thinking about turbulence over the weekend as I was driving over a rough patch on Hwy 101 and then again on I-680 - it us usually bumpier in a car than in our light airplanes, it’s just that we are used to it in a car.
Such a wonderful video! I would love to fly with my mom. I don't think she would go for it. She doesn't even like to drive with me! Anyway, awesome video brother. Blue skies and tailwinds!
I just send this video to my mom. I will be doing my PPL later this year and I am really considering buying a SLING TSi low wing. I hope that I can some day take my mother on a mother's day flight like this. Thank you for sharing.
While watching this video, I couldn’t help but notice the sunshade you’re using. One thing you might wanna look is a heat/UV repelling glass tint. There are some that do not hinder visibility through darkening, albeit repelling the heat and UV.
Lake Skinner and Diamond Valley Lakes both look beautiful from 7K feet. French Valley is my local airport. I am not a pilot, only time I have ever flown in the plane was as a kid at an airshow at Riverside Muni. Whee you go up for a circle around the city and land. That was probably 25 years ago. I would love to be able to catch them once at F70 when they are testing one of the new aircraft and watch it. Congrats! Just found the channel so I hope you are enjoying it still.
Hi Richard.. I'm enjoying your videos here. I'm very interested in building a tsi.. i think you're out of Whiteman..? Love to see yours some day and pick your brain.. thanks.. look forward to your next video
Congratulations on your new plane! I never had the chance of flying in a Sling, but I did see several at a local experimental aircraft show in my country, and they might be the most beautiful and modern GA single engine props on the market.
That was so awesome to watch! Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience. I'm watching from faraway India and have been eyeing this plane for a while, and the sheer joy of one's first flight in one's own plane I got to see now thanks to you! Best wishes for many a mile, many a smile, across the sky may you keep flying!!! PS: I couldn't become a fighter pilot due to having a hole in my heart, but I went on to be a parajumper. The desire to fly though has caught up with me again and this is the bird that seems lovely! Thanks again!
Hi Richard, I loved this video and the sling looks amazing, I start my training next week and cant wait to get started. I will be watching more of your videos from a new subscriber from Liverpool England 👍.
Just discovered your channel and I'm binge watching all the videos, love the colour on her and she is looking beautiful. Congratulations on your new aircraft. Happy New Year, cheers!
Thanks for sharing your journey with all of us. It would be really nice to see how you pick up IFR clearance, how you load and activate the approach and just in general a better visual on the cockpit instruments that we can see some numbers (TAS, GS, wind, fuel burn etc.). Merry Christmas and blue skies and happy landings!
Hi Richard! Me and my son were at the airport that day with the Cherokee and the mountain bikes. Saw you climbing out as we were returning to the airport, we had a great ride and it looks like you had a great meal! Super fun to see how your day went, and hope our paths can cross again. Safe flying!
Boy, oh boy, Richard. This video brought back some memories for this ole flyboy. That sling looks sharp; reminds me of the old Grumman Tiger. The only thing I would change is to move the pilot's throttle quadrant to the left side. I've always believed that that is where it should be, anyway. But, that's just me. I want to feel like I'm flying a fighter, not some big lumbering cargo plane or cattle car in the sky. Nevertheless, I still envy you man. Hopefully if things work out, I'll be back in these here Hawaiian skies, soon myself. meantime, aim high and good flyiin'.
Richard, I have the same ($140!) air vents. But as you will have discovered, while they are the same size as the kit vents (50mm), they are missing a small lip that the kit vents have - so the hole in the dash is slightly too big. Do you recall how you guys dealt with that?
hey Richard, great videos! I've been thinking about building a sling and came across your channel. I fly out of KWHP at Vista. Hope to run into you someday.
