Can someone explain what the first two tools are for when he is pressing the espresso? I don't mean to sound ignorant but it seems completely unnecessary.
I would guess the first one has needles in it to break up any clumping, which can be helpful (though with a commercial grinder, clumps shouldn't be a regular occurrence). The second is a leveler, which a lot of people (me included) buy, use a while, then stop because it doesn't seem to do enough to warrant the extra time or energy... but definitely doesn't hurt anything either.
