You never know what you might find in the Attic.........Woodworking, Metal Fabrication, Machine Work, How to, DIY, Hybrid Pantorouter, Mechanical and such. Love being in the shop practicing some form of wigitry!
I found this video 5 years later, but no joke I’m buying a 25-100 soon that definitely needs some work but everything seems functional on it, for a whole 200$ or the guy said it’s going in the scrap bin 😂
18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81, 90. Good to know your multiples of 9 with this tool. 40 positions out of 360 is 9 degrees for each position. I wish it was 5 degrees for each step.
Did you use lube on seatpost? That will cause creaking no matter what post is used with out it. Nice looking setup there. What floor material did you use? Is it dove tailed or finger jointed? What was the reasoning/benefits of methodology?
Do you not realise how dangerous it is to wear gloves while opening a lathe, and you are touching the rotating part with those gloves, absolute stupidity. Oneday you'll get your hand ripped off.
Great video on the Rockwell 11 inch metal lathe .I’ve got the same lathe and I have a sloppy cross slide brass nut and cross slide bolt I have no idea of where I can get such parts .ls there anything that you can help me with I would really appreciate it I only have a CAT no. It’s FK102503 , No other numbers visible .
The tail stock wrench for the rockwell/delta wood lathe fits on the metal lathe tail stock as well, still not widely available but there is a few on ebay at the moment.
I watched this whole series on you restoring this machine and I enjoyed it so much I'm watching it again! I just can't believe you got that for $103!! Especially for a vertical/horizontal mill!! Thank you for making this great content my friend!...
How has this heater held up since your initial video? I am considering ordering but a bit nervous of the price , just wanting to make sure it’s a good one!
I have enjoyed your videos on the Rockwell lathe. The lathe we had in high school was just like it; that was 1972. You do a good job with your videos and have a great shop!
I was able to interpret your exceptional video and install a power feed on my Rockwell mill. I am a relative newbie to machining. Prior to this project I hadn't: bored to a precise diameter; cut an interior keyway or even heard of a woodruff key. So, it was quite a journey, but I was so elated when I got the axis to move, I felt the need to thank you and express my appreciation for your fine work I deconstructed the limit switches. They are conventional NC momentary switches. I have some DRO stuff in the way, So I bought two panel-mountable momentary pushbutton switches and I'll design and build a housing that will work. Anyway thanks again for the inspiring video!
Great Mark, happy to hear it. I like that you said you deconstructed the video! I remember comments on this video that it was too long and hard to follow. Glad you figured it out. Make sure all you adjustments are correct so you don't bined!
Dear Sir, maybe I still not seen all your videos. I have question I see on your jaw lathe used proximity sensor. I want to know the purpose and can send me detail infor of control box including components used for it?Thank you your respond.
Hey Burton, great videos. I'm almost finished rehabbing my 21-100 and have a question for you. Did you remove the step pulley from the motor? If so, was it difficult to put back on? To me it seems like an interference fit and I'm thinking I'll have to heat the pulley to get it back onto the motor shaft but am looking around for wisdom before going that route. Thanks.
Hey Ray- Yes I did. The vert motor has a set screw thru one of the pulley grooves. The horz is press fit but is strong enough to handle a three jaw pulley. I general with step pulleys if it's difficult to come off you need a fixture/collar type setting up with a puller to get it off without causing damage to the pulley. If the pulley material is thin don't use a three jaws!
@@BurtonsAttic hmmm ok. I got the pulley off (with *much* persuasion, which I figured was just corrosion effects) but can't get it back on. May have to get it reamed out a tad.
@@BurtonsAttic in case you're curious: turns out the motor shaft was a bit mushroomed (0.003"). I'm surprised that happened since when I was hitting it with a drift to separate them, the shat was always inside the pulley. But whatever, sanding down the shaft and also cleaning up the pulley bore with a 5/8 reamer (by hand) has corrected the fit. Now to figure out why the forward contactor circuit stopped working last night...
You can deflate the tire, then it just squeezes up....Put a strap around it to secure it fully....Not a problem with the tire being deflated, and use a cheap electric tire pump that goes to 100 psi if you need it.. Just another option if people don't wish to relocate the spare..
The spring loaded pull out apron fill is near the bottom left on my apron. Under the hand wheel. You pull it and insert an oil can nozzle and fill. You can’t overfill it because the excess will spill over the side.
I've been wanting one of those ever since I seen Adam's video on it. He should contact them and set up a booth machine shop version. He is selling so many of them post with his content. Great little review/ overview man. I just ordered the plain old quick change square block aloris knock off. Just can't seem to muster up the gull to spend that much on a tool post.... 😔
