What are the benefits to phoenix eye and what parts of the body are ideal to strike with it? Can a phoenix eye be done when doing a vertical punch into the face?
great stuff! I am a 30yr gongfu guy who is just now testing myself against the other martial systems to complete my understanding of all I do as applied vs other arts.

Wushu/Sanda is what Kung Fu was developed to have you think is the real history of china. When Wushu/Sanda is the true development of chinese martial arts. Kung fu was developed and organized much later to redirect your focus to a more commercialized version of Chinese Martial Arts, mostly centered for western audiences. Unfortuantely, Sanda today, has become so much of a blend of modern martial arts, its no longer much of any particular style at all, but a complete mix. I studied Wushu and was enamored by tge traditional forms and stances and acrobatics. Which i still feel the true essence of china exists. Today, Sanda competitions accept Kung-fu fighters in recent times. Which i feel is a hijacking of the sport and art of San Shou Sanda. As the kung-fu associations and competitions arent as organized and sophisticated as the Wushu/Sanda organizations and competitions. Its probably why the Olympics has been postponing Sanda/Wushu from being part of the Olympics. Probabky because the kung-fu association wants to conflate itself with Wushu and be advertised as such. Which would ruin Wushu/Sanda in my opinion. As i dont look at Kung-Fu as an original chinese invention. But mire of a marketing stunt for westerners attached to whats on the screen.
Many thanks, Sir, just keep calm save yourself for fuirther training What I like is your space and level orientation!!! Best regards, a real treat. Paiul,69

Before I met Si-Hing Lloyd and ultimately, you I had been training with my uncle. I trained with him on and off while you were still off Horseblock rd. When the time came to start weapons training he asked me which weapon I wanted to learn first. I already knew what I wanted to learn, the Tonfa. One of the most practical and usable weapons in my opinion at the time. He then sat down. And thought for a bit. Then he said "No." You need to learn the staff first. I asked why and what you explained at the beginning of this video is what he told me. That learning the staff first would open me up to everything else I wanted to learn. When he asked me why I chose Tonfa, I told him I wanted a weapon that I could carry on me legally without issue. And back then you were legally allowed a T-Bar aka single Tonfa. I then seconded Escrima sticks. He was a master with the sticks and I was dying to learn them as they too are very easy to carry. As I became older, after learning these weapons I realized that if I had learned those Tonfa first I might have used them on someone. I also realized that my bare hands were the focus of my training and as fun as weapons and improvised weapons are, the reason for me to learn them was so I could counter them with my bare hands. As I recall it I remember why it was important to have someone guiding me correctly. This is one of the foremost reasons I back you as a Sifu and as a mentor.
What shaolin styles do you guys train in? My school focuses a lot on northern shaolin crane, tiger, snake, and mantis. So I’m just curious about yours.
We train in Northern Shaolin as well. Lohan quan is the style we train. We focus manly on the old shaolin temple forms. External and internal as well. Thanks for watching and supporting 🤙🙏 Check out our website. shaolinlohan.com patreon.com/authenticshaolin
Great video! I'd like to ask about the "drunken cup" form of the hand... Surely that is inferior to a closed fist? Aren't you reducing your power, and potentially damaging your fingers by striking like that? What is the purpose of it?
Great question. In the drunken fist style, you are striking with many different hand techniques. The cup is but one hand posture in the style. We condition the hand to strike the targets for that particular strike, and the use is for bridge of rhe nose, under the chin. Using the back of the hand and what we call the with knuckle for the side of the jaw. We use elbows, fists, flat palms fingers, and many more. I hope this answer helps. Thanks for watching and supporting 💪🤙
@@AuthenticShaolin Oh yeah I've seen several different strikes since I took an interest in the drunken fist. My question was mostly directed at the cup style... I don't see the benefit over a closed fist? I'm not martially trained, I'm just curious.
Hello🙏. White wax or white oak works very well with our style. When you work the material, please send me a vid so I can see it. 🤙🤙🤙. I jave more vids on patreon if you are interested. patreon.com/authenticshaolin
