Nothing that I've ever posted is monetized or ad-related. If an ad should happen to pop up it wasn't put there by me, or as a result of anything that I've done.
I don't play too many songs by them, to be honest. Basically just some stuff off the first three albums. They got a little too weird for me after that. Other than "Just" I don't think I have anything posted from "The Bends" album. Maybe I'll post some from that one in the future.
I've never been there, and will probably never end up going there, but the flavor of music from NOLA is so damn unique and catchy. I'm a huge fan of Stanton Moore on drums also. He is absolutely fantastic. I play, usually quite poorly, one or two Galactic songs. That's it. He's much too good for me, lol. The Star Turtle album by Harry Connick is another big favorite of mine.
Thanks for listening! The Dead is kind of quirky on drums, and, at times, you have to try to play the parts of two drummers. Best of luck with your playing!
I think music and songs similar to this are rubbing off on the younger generation without their knowledge! I literally heard one of my boys call each other and their friends a monkey man and they are younger elementary kids!! Rock on big bro 😊
I've played it off and on for nearly 35 years now, so by this point I don't put much thought into it and just let loose. It's a song in which drummers should absolutely be allowed to pound the absolute crap out of the drum set....and that's how I approach it!
Thanks, lol! I'm nearly 50 years old and only play a couple of times a month anymore. 25 years ago I would have given it a shot, but I entered into a stable career - not to mention I was a worse, or at least a less-polished, drummer 25 years ago! Life is what it is. It rarely works out the way we want, or the way we think it might go :) Thanks for listening!
Thanks! Sorry I can't get better sound quality with my set up. Just a digital camera on an old boom stand above my head. Just do all of this for fun, so I'm not putting any money into drum mics or mixers and crap.
Thank you! I've been playing Zeppelin for over 30 years now. I daydream through a lot of them because I've played them so many times, but not this one - it's a bit tough, especially that conga breakdown part. I don't know exactly what goes on there, so I just try to play something that mimics the original sound with the equipment I have. I probably make it much harder than it actually is.
You’re such a great drummer! I’m more of a beginner (especially compared to you lol) but I love your covers of songs by the cardigans they are my favorite band!!
Thank you for the kind words! Keep playing, and try to incorporate different bands/styles of music and you will definitely improve your playing. Playing different styles can only help you in the long run!
It's been one of my favorites ever since one time I was driving back home on leave from the Army (in the early 90s). I stopped at a truck stop for gas and grabbed a Deep Purple greatest hits cassette for like 2 bucks from a bin near the register. I knew a couple of songs by them, but had never heard Hush before. Loved the song ever since then. Still have the cassette too! It was a lot harder to discover music in the pre-internet days!!!
Thanks! I think I recorded Paranoid Android the same day I recorded Just, but it sounded like noise and didn't record well. Maybe I'll give it another try sometime. I don't have a fancy recording set up, and some things just don't sound good no matter what I do.
Thanks, and thanks for watching! It's a pretty chill song....ones like that like usually give me a little trouble because my inner self wants to rock it out, lol.
It's definitely a Zepp (and drumming) classic. I don't know if they overdubbed that conga section in the middle or what. I usually just try to do my best with it on the toms.
Thanks! If I had done a practice run I wouldn't have screwed up that breakdown part. I play cowbell parts with my foot that are probably being played by someone other than the drummer. Sometimes it's difficult to incorporate that, especially (for me) if I haven't played the song in a while.
