I will never forget the Christmas I got one from my Aunt. I was playing with it when suddenly I smelled smoke and said something to my Aunt. GREAT GUN!! At the start is says "12,000uF @ 900v" This is (fully charged) equal to 4860 JOULES of energy. There are 52 capacitors, are each "450uF @ 470v" each or 47.6 Joules each. That's ONLY 52 x 47.6 = 2475.2 JOULES total. You would need about 102 of those capacitors to get 4860 JOULES in any arrangement. Can you recheck?? THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!!

There are some mistakes people are doing when running a flyback transformer. The problem is that many people try to get an arc from a different pin than HV-GND which can cause the transformer to ar internally, so it gets destroyed. But nice arcs!
The conductor wire coming out of the internal toroidal coil is about to touch the weld + wire. It is better to insulate it. The wire connecting the resonant circuit coil and capacitor is too thin. Keep the connection between the coil and capacitor as short as possible.
"Polyester capacitors" are 3 pieces in series. The withstand voltage is 1200v, but how much voltage do you use it at? What are the actual resonance conditions?
