Hi Jody!!! Your little crab is cute!!! And who does not like Coloring outside the Lines? Your Ruby is lovely… and I like your crab page it is very nice!!! I too did one book July but am going to continue until I get through Lulu Mayo’s Tarot coloring book! Interesting doing the Olympic flag color! Your first buddy color is too cute!!! Your double page spread is awesome!!! I know that took a lot of time!!! One thing I have done for the markers is to put down like white pencil then put the marker on it and it most times does not bleed through? Your gramophone page is awesome! I like how shiny it is! I like your sponge on background too! Fun!!! I like your washi tape on the dessert pages!!! How fun!! Love it and I like the colors with the sparkles!!oh and you did more washi tape on the cake page too fun, I really think it dresses up the page!!! The polar bear page is super awesome!! I thought at first gelatos but you said tim holtz so fun! Oh then your next page is gelatos haha! Cool!! Love all your pages thanks for sharing! Enjoyed it and have a wonderful rest of the week!!!
So funny how sometimes we colour things the same even when we want to change things. I usually colour my stripey Lulu Mayo cats ginger as I have 2 ginger cats 🐈 I love your pages and it's so great to see how much progress you are making towards finishing this book 💗💜💗

Hi, when using gelatos dry rubbed on with a brush you do not need to pre treat the paper. If you plan on using wet mediums I usually will use Daniel Smith transparent watercolor ground.

Just a note, my name shows a strange Italian rule where we don't actually have the letter K in the alphabet, so the "ch" takes the place of that and it's pronounced like a K. Italian is usually a very straightforward language to pronounce, but then we throw in some strange rules like that 🤣 (and mizzy is just short for "Mizar", it was the nickname I used in the past when I was still in astrophysics)

Hi Jody! Very informative as usual, thanks! Interestingly, France indipendence day is on 14th of July to commemorate the fall of the Bastille prison during the french revolution. There is a big square dedicated to that in Paris (where the old prison was located), and it's where most manifestations and protests are done in modern times 😄

Thanks for this video, it was interesting to watch! Regarding Shooting Star: I have actually tested a lot of different brands of colouring pencils in "Stjärnfall" - the Swedish edition - and what I found out was that soft colouring pencils worked best on the paper. The harder the pencil, the more difficult it was to lay the colour down. Just a tip from someone who has completed the entire book 🙂 Try out a soft and a hard colouring pencil brand to the paper in the English edition to see if it´s the same with this paper.

@@jicolourist No, unfortunately the Swedish edition also doesn´t have that... It´ll be interesting to see if there´ll be such a register in her upcoming book "Sägen". Jody, fun video! I am currently working on Lulu Mayos Tarot coloring book. I am almost completely done with the Major Arcana and am thrilled by doing this! It is just one of those things that caught my eye! I am so happy to see all of the things you have been working on! Your crab turned out awesome!!!So did the sea horse page!!! Excellent video as always my dear Jodie, thank you so much for sharing> I went down a rabbit hole when you compared the Maria Trolle english version to the swedish edition because i for one have always had the off white paper in Trolle books. i am based in the uk. Of course different publishers produce different books but I have come to discover so far that publishing companies are NOT (necessarily) printers. the fact that it is clearly stated printed in China is fairly new maybe a new norm, who knows but i went back through the others and none tells us where they have actually been printed. i have a gibbs smith version, they also do the hanna karlzon books and so far no mention on where they are printed, just all the lovely information on the publisher. (except for mandalen , i have all the Maria s and all the Hanna s ). I want to say you have a normal no cause for alarm maria trolle copy. It seems to me that this is the norm for all the books sold "across the pond". Just thought i d say as much. Have a lovely rest of your day, hugs to you and yours.
Wow thank you for doing that research! I appreciate the feedback and will look a little closer to in the future to printed verses published! The paper is definitely different but the illustrations are wonderful so am still excited to give the book a try. Happy colouring and hi from 🇨🇦👋🏻
Super video, very enjoyable, x Total agree on the tiny worlds, (I don't have any) far too small to colour in my mind, but I do like the themes they have. I'm also with you on the Angela Gonzalez book, I love the images, but the paper is dreadful and not fun to work on. I have the angels one, which is lovely, but sadly the only one I will get. xx👍
