I understand that Ronin’s have a lot to focus on and the tunnel vision is real. I just want to throw out a quick reminder to try and spare doomed titans for your friendly monarchs. (when they are around to take it)
Yeah, that. I do that all the time. It was explained well in the comments. Some guy did that to me and that's where I learnt that trick. Pretty cool huh?
Yeh the scooch was blocking you by punching back. It's relatively easy. The scooch probably has faced ronins before and uses that to avoid getting executed when doomed. Good way to counter is to wait till he punches first and then punch shortly right after (before he throws hands again), so that it the game detects it as an execution.
There’s a certain way where the first melee takes priority so they cancel out the second one all you gotta do is wait for them to melee then do it straight after
My brother in christ, you were just melee canceled. Scorch read you five years into the future. Typical Ronin L. In all seriousness, you might wanna change your title now that everybody and their mother explained what's happening in the comments. This is the game working perfectly as intended. You do not own CQC as a Ronin, that's where Scorch reigns king. Instead, you gotta learn your melee range and learn how to kite and bait. There is nothing more dangerous than facing a doomed Scorch with a good pilot and nothing to lose.
ronin to ronin melee canceling happens when you hit a melee on someone else while they are melee They know the ywill sword while doomed just shotgun them next time and it will be fine :D
Local roning player in disbelief, gets outplayed by scorch in melee (With simultaneous hit from broth parties execution animation doesn’t play, whether it’s intentional or not. It’s called melee cancelling IIRC)
Isn't this just melee cancelling occuring? He's punching you just before you land a hit so that your melee is cancelled out. One way I've found to stop this is to just pull back and melee again since they lose the rythem and that lets you execute them
so I'll explain some advanced things as a poor Ronin main who got to experience them firsthand as well. When any titan lands a successful melee hit on enemy titan, it always backsteps. In this short timing of about 0.2s you cannot damage them with your melees, which I think was made to encourage tactical meleeing, rather than melee button mashing (does not work like how it's supposed to in the slightest!). So sometimes you don't even trade melees and just get beaten up like that (although, to mention, if you do master to use this feature yourself as a Ronin, you are practically untouchable for any other titan's melee!). Advice: back off and maintain your distance. You, as a Ronin, have advantage on melee distance, and disadvantage on melee speed (so up close most of the time you get beaten up like that LMAO). But if you master your melee distance you can melee without any collateral damage (in other words without trading melee hits like it usually happens). Or just use leadwall lol. It's your main source of damage after all, and a Scorch who has not set his traps or has his flamecore isn't a real immediate threat to push him up close like you did.
As a scorch main, this feature is fairly balanced as it can deny the enemy an execution because they see the doom state bar as free exp or, in a monarchs case, Food
@@Refunded404 unfortunately this feature's only problem is how much it struggles because of ping or just Titanfall 2 not perfect netcode. Like if I'm playing 200 ping I literally either miss a melee completely or get stunned back, when me and enemy both press at the same time. So I'm at a real disadvantage, of either I miss completely waiting out the timing, or get pushed back by this feature. In most cases this thing just makes melee mashing one-sided, not anything tactical. Not even most, like 98% of the times. And that is FOR SURE not how it was supposed to go.
It's called melee canceling and it works on every Titan. It's most effective on Ronin because he has a melee attack animation that is just a smidge of a fraction shorter than other Titan melees. What I learned is to just back up and bait them into performing a melee then dash back in to perform the execution
Tbh no because the sword(not core) only does like 50 or 100 more dmg per hit than a regular titan punch, so its arguable that the sword isn't overpowered
Here’s some advice from a ronin main Use sword core even if it’s just for sword blocking A ronin with sword core is very scary and if you have a scorch or high damaging titan nearby you and you use sword block and sword core together you can take extremely little damage even when enemies hit you with there own cores Ronin is a bully class that can distract your enemies If you force them to do barely any damage to you while your teammates do heavy damage too them then you’re doing great Ronin also acts like great clean up especially with you having 3 dashes and temporal I want to pass this advice from one ronin main too another
Lemme add to this: If you ever hear an enemy pilot disembark (which I know Titan Brawl doesn't allow), DO NOT HESITATE TO PUNISH. You'll be surprised how fast you can grind down health bars with Leadwall or even Core when you see them trying to re-embark. No joke got a double execution because two players disembarked to get a battery.
I love using Ronin when i don't want to play as a titan, but i still want to get some value out of a titan, so I go like this: ronin 3 sec unprotected landing the perk which phases you when you are doomed nuclear eject the strat is try to land on a titan(so i get a titan kill), then run into enemies doing maximum possible damage without worrying about protection, bait people into killing me, nuclear eject while phased.
I will also add some tips I see Ronin more as a flanking Titan, you get in behind the enemy team while your team hits them from the front, you deal some damage, distract and confuse them, break their defenses, steal a kill of you can, then dip once the attention is on you Also, if someone is blocking your initial flanking route, just find another, you'd waste too much time and health fighting through them, it's best to fall back and try to find a different way around
@@Seductitivemonkey118 I didn’t think it was possible till I saw ronin do it in the training vid thing and I tested it myself. It’s really nice in brawl and stuff when your doomed but have core ready and see someone who’s also doomed. You hit core, zoom over there, phase dash behind them and then execute. You may die but their going down with you
Very nice! Though just as an extra thing to keep your ronin a little longer, remember to use sword block fellow ronin main Otherwise very solid murder spree!
@@Rokodai09 Hey thanks! Love to see the Ronin mains representing. I use turbo engine and temporal anomaly, basically have as many dashes as possible at any time lol. I also have the emergency battery boost.
