You should never mix concrete by volume. You should only mix it by weight. Mixing by volume causes bulking. You can't guarantee the ratios are correct using volumetric measurements. The standard 3:2:1 is based on weight ratios not volume ratios. A shovel is a volumetric measurement.

@@BuildingwithBudd Got me logs yesterday. Chaos 😁 . Both grown up granddaughters decided to come across and help out moving and storing. Lounge turned into a kindergarten. 6 yr old and 4 yr old siblings bickering and a 14 month old who is a crawling,screaming phenomenon. 😱
