Let's include the fact that under Islamic rule, slaves were not treated like how you think and many slaves were freed strategically. The idea of suddenly and completely abolishing slavery after its integration into society is not a good, sustainable idea. Using Islam, Muhammad brought fair treatment to slaves and recommended people to free their slaves.
