If its steam and its in the North West chances are I will be filming it .My love of Steam stems from my late father who was a relief signalman on Shap working the boxes from Lambrigg crossing to Shap summit but mainly worked the signalbox at Scout Green.
Another lovely video Stephen well done great camera work as usual I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on RU-vid bye for now Philip
Shame it rained on us Steve the weather should have passed, but a great sight to see 45212 on the return Lune rivers trust, looked very nice comming round the corner , cheers. 👍
Nice them Steve bit different from steam Nice to see the 33,s I was at scout Green the sun did no good to the 33 s looked like mirrors bad for photos having the crack with nige 😊
Excellent shot Steve. Shame Tangmere failed. Just to much work. Why don't West Coast run some of their other locos. Like Galatea , British India Line or Leander instead of just relying on Tangmere and the Black 5. Kind regards C&A l
Lovely shots! Such a shame about the failure. I was tracking the tour from down in London, when I saw '+91' and '+209' on RTT around Hellafield I knew something was badly wrong! Do we know what happened to the return leg back to London from Carlisle/Preston? From what I could tell it seems they maybe sent 86259 to Carlisle and dragged the empty stock over to Carnforth?
As far as I know the passengers were transferred onto a Avanti back to London and the train taken back to Carnforth. Tangmere is still at Kirkby Stephen in the siding and is being rescued this afternoon 👍
Passeners were taken back to Carlisle with the diesel also failing. Avanti train was delayed en route causing passengers for Nuneaton to miss their connection of the last train. And then having to pay for taxis to get back home. Not a good experience despite efforts of the organisers.
Nice shot of Tangmere Steve, shame about the failure on the return l understand it was a damaged rod? The loco is really being pushed to the limit at the moment and has done well throughout the season but cant go on forever. Cheers Brian
Not a good experience for the passengers who suffered the diesel also suffering failure, only getting halfway along the settle Carlisle line and taken back to Carlisle and the Avanti train they had to travel back on being very late to their drop off points and passengers who were due to alight at Nuneaton ( about fifty of them!) missing the final connection train of the day from Rugby and forced to pay for taxis in order to get home that exening. And all apparently with no hope of compensation!
Tangmere failed on starting off from Appleby on the Up line. Piston rod on off side come away from piston and smashed into the cylinder cracking it. Train pushed at 5mph to Kirkby Steven where Tangmere was put into the sidings and the 47 and train returned to Appleby after crossing to dn line thence to Carlisle.
@@adelestevensAre you sure as Tangmere went through Appleby at speed and a picture at Kirkby Stephen shows the near side cylinder damaged not the offside as you mentioned 🤔
