I got our family’s 60 back going. It was slightly stuck. I let it soak in PB blaster and some Marvell and I just put my truck in gear and just the small pull of the truck without throttle got it spinning again. Wasn’t stuck bad. I let it soak in Marvell for about a week spinning by hand to lube up the best it could. Got it started. Smoked like that really bad the first time. Cleared up after the Marvell and stuff was cleared out. Love these old tractors
Duuuuh, tear the fricken engine apart and clean it properly, unseize the rings. Thaat's soome lazy butthead trashpile mechanic techniques. It's doing more damage to the cylinders.
nice work ive got the same saw from auction, runs great, but missing the chain adjustment mechanism. there is an empty channel under the 2 studs off the motor that the bar mounts to. have you found a place to find parts?
From personal experience: I came up with the bright idea to bolt an aluminum plate with a face o-ring and a grease fitting onto the cylinder block of a seized F-head Jeep engine. I pumped it full of grease and felt something give. Upon removing the plate, I saw a gaping hole in the cylinder wall and the piston had not moved. Cylinder walls are thin and weak due the need for water jackets. It took very little force on the grease gun handle to destroy the block.
You did a great job. A thought on the bumper, you could paint it black and paint the letters white . Thanks for saving the old Chevrolet. American Iron all the way!
Keep checking your chain tension, it's a new chain and will stretch with the first few tanks. Learn how to adjust the carb too, it sounds lean and if it's too lean you'll fry the piston.
i am a new DIYer and also somewhat of a prepper. i will someday move to the country and grow my own food and fix my own stuff. i would love to see a general tour of your whole garage your farm, even your kitchen.whatever you are comfortable with.
Did you know that the tractor has cock pits on it. Their up under neith. You open them and it will turn over alot easier. When it starts you clise them.ok 7:21
