I have watched a hundred hours or so of firework making videos, bought books on the subject and read the various pyro forums and it bugs me how many people want all the work done for them in the comments... I am all for freedom of information and sharing of knowledge but some people are just lazy. This is NOT the kind of hobby you want to take SHORTCUTS in.
I did exactly like you, but the black powder in the rocket just exploded on the ground every time. That is what black powder is expected to do if properly made. But when I mixed the black powder with a good amount of dextrin I got it to work. Maybe I shouldn't make the rocket powder with willow charcoal.🙂
I've been very interested since I was young. But I'm not doing it. Can you help me know which one and how to do it? I want to talk to you. Please teach me sir.
To start the stars, with lead shot..I always used a little bentonite clay first couple layers. Then the comp sticks to that very well. I didn't see if you did that or not, you Mentioned it was hard to get the comp started in the stars. Nice roller👍
People that dont roll their stars really dont unstand that the lead amount is minimal.. but that being said. I switched to mustard seeds as cores. Great video i love how you did it. Thx
You can probably use ceramic balls or even an organic product like mustard seeds in lieu of lead shot. Where do you get these different powders (not BP but the others like chrysanthemum)? Are they commercially available?
This reminds me of some footage I saw of a Chinese factory where they used electric cement mixers for this.. Had no idea what they were doing at the time, the more you know!
Is it thqt golden twinkler star with lampblack and no charcoal? It is the best glitter i ever made. But i used Sodiumbicarbonate instead of sodiumoxalate
