I did not know this group existed, l just watched the short film, and was surprised to learn that Peregrines were nesting within the University grounds,
Beautiful footage as always.👏 I heard somewhere that Sparrow Hawks usually nest fairly close to a water source. Wasn’t sure if that was true but this video kind of supports that.
Great video shutting 👏. Hard wild life . Not easy at all. Poor chick . They could feed him there . But they dont . They have strong instincts what to do . 😢 . This is nature 🙏
I remember a time when these birds were so so rare. My dad took me to a nest site where the chicks had just started to fly when i was around 7/8. It was magical and so exciting. This was in the mid 80’s when they were practically non existent. The come back they have made is nothing short of incredible. They went from 1 pair within huge territories out in the middle of no where to a pair in every town with a suitably tall building. I love it. Thanks for sharing your footage. It is beautiful.
Pretty cool how the kestrel just basically disemboweled the vole and focused on just the "meat" of the prey for the meal. Hawks and eagles sometimes eat all of the "innards" as well. Nice video - thanks for sharing. 👍
I saw a male adult bird jumping repeatedly on his 3 month old fledgling. He wouldn't be trying to mate with it right? It looks like he was stomping on it but i cant tell because their wings do the same thing.
