Awesome drum performance. I can see you very much play with passion, you definitely give those drums a beat down at times :) Devin is still killing it too with the vocals. Thanks for sharing this performance.
Great line up and the kit sounds immense. I have to admit I have not come across your work before but man I hope you will continue to play for Devin for some time!
It's been life changing. I got so fed up of the wire getting caught under my ass and pulling on my ears. Its just a small kick mic stand with an extension cable from the mixer taped to it.
@@DarbyTodd my teacher once worked with the producer of Micheal Jackson after the thriller tour etc. the guy had my teacher aka the ghost who had to fill in for metal church on the masterpiece album anyways the producer made my teacher play with his hi hat in some weird non playable place and my teacher still regrets listening to him. Those dynamics are vital if you can't express yourself and obviously your good enough to play for a master like Devin he has to give you some freedom or there's no point in you being you. Not sure if your the same dude using the dynasyncs with the orange kit. But I've been a huge fan of Devin's music but as musicians etc he needs to let you feel it. Don't lose your soul over playing for someone famous put your mark on it. There's no point in being one of the drummers for a guy do something interesting and make Devin colab with your idea or don't be in the band
@@DarbyTodd honor to talk with you man and I mean no offense I hate seeing fellow drummers be forced to not be free. And honestly I love Devin's music but it needs some percussive freedom . Needs that natural element to be real
0:56 "FU*K IT! AAAAARGGHHOOOHYEEEEESSSS!" *shoots a sonic wave of destruction obliterating everyone's minds and feels* Such a cool moment. One of the best vocal performances Devy's done of this song, imo.
I know this is a drum cam, but I just have to say that I’ve never heard a vocalist whose voice has aged better in my life. This song was released over 20 years ago, and Devin not only sounds just as good as he did back then, but arguably even better. It’s mind blowing.
Amazing performance for a tough and long song. Love all your volume modulation and adaptation to fit the momentum and the ambient of each part. Can I ask what you do several times with your floor Tom at the end of the song? Muting it?
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. The drum thing you mention was a weird one. For some reason some nights I felt off during that part. Just resting my hand on the drum gave me a bit of extra balance on the stool to play the part. It was just one of those weird moments where on certain shows I felt more confident during that part with extra stability. Other nights I didn’t feel the need to do it!!
