Please address the issue of the Russian language, as well. Since it's not a requirement any longer does it mean that the foreigner would be able to create their own communities like "Little Italy" or "American Village" or maybe "China Town" inside Russian cities where they can live, work and communicate in their own languages. I think it would solve a lot of problems for newcomers as they gradually integrate into Russian society.
This is a really good question. It’s a bit more complicated than just creating communities. Many foreigners from former CIS countries have their “small communities” but they speak Russian fluently and are fully integrated into Russian culture. It’s not easy to do without the Russian language.
...anybody who dares to bad mouth Russia knowing how the US is riddled with the drug addiction, drug overdose deaths, poverty, prostitution, mayhem, crimes, corruption, homelessness, EXTREMELY degenerate behavior like walking out in public with literally on'es pants below their ass, etc. is A Big League Arrogant Ignorant Imbecile. This is the exact stupid attitude that insures that the US will fall. 10 or 20% in this country are doing well. The rest are living in quiet desperation too embarrassed to admit how bad things really are in this country. And Not only that, it's gonna get worse. Yeah, bad mouthing Russia while you are worse off. Shame on you cowards.
I thought talking about "American Idiots" was a joke... But seriously! If receiving a present from a foreign government makes you a "Foreign Agent" in US then all US presidents were foreign agents: a ceremonial sword from Saudis here, a nice Japanese or European piece of art there.... The same very much goes for receiving "a payment from a foreign government": if you live in Russia have kids and took any of them to a pediatrician or sent to a school: here you go - you've got some in-kind or even an actual in-cash subsidy (a payment) from the Russian government! Or if you get invited to some official event for meeting whoever and get some light snack and drinks: you are all "Foreign Agents" yourselves! So please do not talk about Scott Ritter and "Foreign Agent" stuff if you are not crystal clear what it exactly means and what you exactly want to say! Or you will look very much like any other of 300 million Americans that live in a very artificial and carefully build reality, know nothing and understand even less!
Many Genx Americans in 1985 watched Rocky VI. Many Russians as well. The wall fell in 91. Small change. But a good one. I respect your leadership. Putin doesn’t like prejudice teaching. He is a true heritage leader. We have Hollywood presidents in America. That’s why we run sideways.
when will people realise that ALL Governments are the real enemy. They are parasites . No one needs them. People could live in peace on regional basis.
Funny how Americans still think their country is not a dump. Such ignorance used to be just annoying. Now, it's infuriating. All my life I saved up to be able to travel to America in leisure. Now that I've got all the money I need to do so, you can't pay me to even try.
Eddie, i don't believe in cabals or labels. I've been called a Nazi and a bleeding heart liberal, but i would like to know how the Russians keep their cities so clean and tidy
It’s a Russian thing. Truly. They take pride in their surroundings. It’s not 💯 but it’s closer to it than most places in the west and certainly some places in the states.
Ну да А в Москве то..чисто... А в сша...грязь..😅😅😅

As a Finn who has visited Russia, it's not the city centers that are dump, they are in most places ok, perhaps not as nice as in Finland but OK regardless. It's the outskirts of the city where you find the people living in old hovels that look like something from developing country. And the worst places are the rural villages where mostly old people live anymore and those are the real dumps. Russia has improved a lot in last 30 years, but there are still areas where people live really poorly and in houses that would not be allowed for human habitation in Finland.
Yes Moscow is grim, but it has come on leaps and bounds since 1990, what was left after Communism would take a long time to fix, but at least its a homogenous city, most big European cities you just don't feel safe in when there are masses of brown skinned migrants hanging around, I would feel safer in Moscow than Chicago or Atlanta.
Guys, ignor or just band all the as***les.. they might not even be Russians.. there are a lot of russian speaking trolls from the ex soviet countries..
I live in The Netherlands, i have a Russian wife and she lives in Kasimov. That town is a little run down now but it has great charm. It is not at all a dump.
I am happy and proud that my country preserves traditional values! And our children grow up in a healthy society. We have men and women, mom and dad, and no perversions. Indeed, Russia is a haven for all normal people!
It looks fine and the residents look happy. Russia and Western Europe (UK) seemed to have a really warm relationship around the turn of the century 1999/2000. We even had a bar open up in my small town called Glasnost Vodka Bar and it was very popular at the time. What on earth went wrong?
Russian family values are: a drunk husband can beat his wife if he wants (laws that forbade this have been abolished!). Men leave their wives when they become pregnant and do not pay alimony (more than anywhere else). The divorce rate in Russia is higher than anywhere else. These are Russian values - if you believe statistics and facts more than insane propaganda. The Soviet Union was officially atheist and its representatives never tired of telling the West that religion was the opium of the people. And 30 years later, the same people (Putin was a communist and an atheist!!!) are telling us that the West is losing its religiosity.
Omsk Medical University has faculties where teaching is conducted not only in Russian, but also in English. There are a lot of students from India there now.
THIS CITY LOOKS JUST FINE, AS MANY MORE BUT RUSSIA IS HUGE AND THOSE ARE THOSE ARGUMENTS THAT IS A DOUBLE BLADE. BUT You told the only truth, if you think that you live in a dump you live in it not others. Keep showing to the world how Russia looks like. We see only the face of PUTIN on TV and he is getting old. LOL :)
