@@darrenhodge5161 That hasn't been an issue for me so couldn't say if this helps or not. British Customs seat never gave me much of an issue with that.
The spring does raise the seat slightly but in the forward position I can still flat foot it easily. I’m 5’9” with short legs. I fitted the heavy spring which is great for me. I’m 14 and a half stone - 203lbs.
I fitted the same a few weeks ago. I agree, this is the single best modification and I would recommend that it is the first modification anyone should do. I wasted money prior to fitting this spring. I changed the seat for a triumph comfort seat, that made no discernible difference to the comfort. I swapped out the shock for a Fox shock, which improved the ride slightly when on its softest setting, which affected the handling. I added seat cushions, that made only a slight difference. I could have saved a lot of money by fitting this seat spring first.
An excellent review. Thank you. I ordered mine a few days ago so should have it pretty soon. I like you am on the short side (5’5”) so I’m a little concerned about increasing seat height. I just wonder if moving the seat back will then adversely affect handlebar reach ? I’m looking forward to installing mine nonetheless.
It's not much of a height difference but it did seem to be noticeable. I haven't moved mine back yet but if I like the seat feel when I do and I don't like the bars I will probably find a set of bar risers that will pull them back just a bit. Personally I don't like the hangers look on these bikes so I have no plans to do that.
@@TheTinydev I’ve ordered bar risers too which bring the bars back an inch toward the rider so I’m sure I’ll find the optimum for me. I agree regarding the ape hangers, they just don’t look right (to me anyway)
A little update. I did give this cap a go. I went with the chrome version. For the first time since I got my bike. I filled up with fuel and I didn’t need a shower after pulling out of the gas station. Obviously my original cap had problems and poured out fuel every time I filled the tank. I love the look and the functionality. I haven’t as yet experienced the issue with the gasket.. mine is holding up. I guess it’s luck of the draw…

Mine didn't stay matte black. It faded into this goldish color. It works on my bike due the colors but I wouldn't say that I really recommend the product.

Great video! Why does Triumph use an OLD cigarette lighter adapter? Great location to access when the engine is hot! USB chargers located near the handlebars make more sense!
Thanks. :) This isn't a normal US style cigarette lighter port. It's a DIN style. Pretty common for stuff like heated gear and such. But yeah I agree a smaller USB style port near the bars is better.
I guess that depends more on the situation. It's a bobber so it'll never be a super plush ride. That being said I have no issues with pain on mine. At least not until I have been riding for a long time. If it feels like something specific to do with the BC seat or install you might reach out to BC and ask them about it. For me the BC seat is more comfortable than the stock seat.
Dude, get rid of that cheesy side cover on each side thats says “Bobber” and also replace the fake carburetor on each side and replace them with an air filter kit on each side as well.

Hey Zac, thanks for the video and comments. I started this job last night but have stopped half way as the wire doesn't seem long enough to run back and down between the throttle-bodies to get to the socket. I don't want to tug it too hard, so I'm checking around to see if I need to loosen up some more length somehow. Any tips on that? Or did it just run down and fit? Cheers Jock.
@@TheTinydev Yup, a bit more yanking than I like, and there's no slack in the connected cable, but after about an hour of gruntin'n'swearing I got it connected. Getting the plug through the rubber sleeve was fun. Ended up using thin-nosed pliers from the front to prise it open and could then get it over the rectangular plug. Then refixed the pliars onto the plug and gently tugged it through. All done, let's see if any fuses blow when I connect the battery conditioner!
Great info and video, l was wondering if there was a place to fit this socket..as l hate the cable hanging down. Brilliant thank you. But l was wondering why you have a separate socket to charge your battery when this one will do it?
I somehow missed this comment. Sorry about that. The other port was already in place and I had no need to remove it. Plus that already has the matching connector for my battery tender.
This has been in my shopping cart for a couple days as I mull it over along with some other items. Glad I found this vid. Guess I'll delete that. Last I want is another problematic gas cap. I tried a beautiful looking Monza cap on my Speed Twin 900 and had lots of problems. I thought one of these would make a cool replacement.
I still use it. It has faded to more of a gold color than black. Which works on my bike but still it shouldn't do that. So yeah quality on this particular item could be better. For what it's worth using the gasket from the original cap worked well for me.
@@TheTinydev Thanks for the response mate. ATM the color choices are chrome or glossy black. Perhaps glossy would not fade. I was going to go for that. It's been kind of bothering me that there is no maker listed so I guess China.

Sold mine within 6 months with every available Triumph extra added to it. Most uncomfortable, unstable bike i have ridden in 45 years. Beautiful - yes! If Triumph added some way of providing more travel in the rear (you can put whatever after market rear shocks you want on it the differences is miniscule!) & much better suspension up front i will buy another but until then i won't touch this thing. Looks great on the garage floor & bloody awful to ride it!
I bought a 22 Bobber. I like it alot. But I'm not sure I like the gears 4-6. They are way to hígh in the rev zone. I never used the 6th gear, feels unnecessary it exists at all.
I totally get what you're saying. I have a child who is now an adult and now I have extra time. My hobby is cutting grass. I started another hobby and thats my Bobber. Of course there is the wife hobby .hahaha. Cheers Zac
Thanks for putting this together. I just bought a '22 bobber and was just shopping for a solution like this. This is way more plug and play than some of the other options i was looking at. I'll be ordering one later today.
So at first I was skeptical but after riding it awhile I do think it's more comfortable. Granted it's not drastic. It seems to have more support on the back part of the seat and absorbs vibration better than the stock seat.
