I still have it. No issues with the battery so far. I still don't have a tun of miles on this thing. My wife uses it around the neighborhood and I occasionally ride it a few miles to work. I will have to plan another update on it at some point.
@@TheTinydev Thanks Zac for the update, i found one local forsale with 300 miles on it asking $2400. So not sure if this is a good bike for a beginner.
@@heuerfan it's an easy to ride bike so from that perspective yes... However for transportation for more than a few miles I really wouldn't recommend it. The range is pretty limited. It's a great option if you live really close to work or school or whatever... However you will likely be wanting to upgrade to something more capable pretty quickly. Either way I highly recommend the MSF basic rider course if you are in the states.
I have no tricks for making it faster. Some people completely replace the controller/battery/display to do that. But it's sort of the nuclear option. The battery BMS, Display and controller all talk to each other over canbus.... I don't regret buying it since it was cheap. That being said my primary bike is my Triumph and I just use this thing for my short ride back and forth to work when I want to save on gas. And for tinkering with it.
Assuming RU-vid let's me most the link from Amazon this is the one I used. Nilight 20035H NIXMEN H4/HS1 LED Motorcycle Headlight Bulb CSP Chips 6000K 9003 HB2 Hi/Lo Beam Light Conversion Kit for Motorbike www.amazon.com/dp/B08DKYXQXG/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_5719H24R6QBCWYKJK7Q2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
@@TheTinydevokay, thanks! I will ask FRG on his channel. I tried to look too, didn't find much. It is weird how they calculate the SOC with just voltage. It's not normal li-ion voltage soc calculations with this pack.
It was an 84v 5Amp charger from Amazon. The last I checked it wasn't available anymore for that specific link. There are other listings on Amazon but you have to be careful to get the right connector. Also wise to check that the polarity matches the original charger before connecting it to the bike/battery.
nice E-bike man!! i have a question ; can we consider this as a 50cc bike? do you need to have a moto license for it, if it goes above 47MPH? thanks in advance.
I suppose it depends on your location. I'm in Florida and mine was registered as a motorcycle. I already had a motorcycle endorsement. (This is not legal advice). This link might be helpful if you are in the same state. "Florida Laws for Scooters, Mopeds and Other Motorized Bikes - ValuePenguin" www.valuepenguin.com/florida-moped-scooter-insurance-laws#moped
@@TheTinydev yeah I live in North Carolina, and I suppose it's going to be the same here too! They say if it goes above 50cc it need to be called a motocycle, and also you need a license for that. That's a shame even if it's electric and drive like a scooter, you still need to pass the driving license for it!! Anyway thanks again man, appreciate the help😉
@@neodimataurus It's actually pretty quick from a stop and on a good charge the output power seems to be higher than rated which is already right at 2bhp.... I would highly recommend taking an MSF basic rider course which at least here will get you your endorsement. The riding skills definitely apply to the Slicker. Iv been riding all kinds of bikes for years and the stuff from the class has probably saves my life a few times. Just some food for thought anyways. :)
@@TheTinydev thanks, I will call the DMV around here and see what there rules about the electric bike license 👍 oh and do you need to have already a car license to get a bike license? Or each one of them is on it's own category?
@@neodimataurus In Florida you at least need a learners permit to go with the endorsement I believe... Don't quote me on that... There is also a motorcycle only license but I haven't looked into the details of that.
The bracket I sell on Etsy made in aluminum. I put the dxf file on thingiverse though if you have the ability to make your own. Etsy link here. Only includes the bracket itself. www.etsy.com/listing/943368253/slim-license-plate-bracket-for-city
Tap the select button until the trip meter flashes and then hold the reset button. If you just hold the reset button it resets the display. Hope that helps.
@@TheTinydev It worked. Thanks a lot. Why did they have to make it so complicated. Lol. I have been just trying to jold reset button and it just restarts the display I guess.
