The Titanic Archive Project has been dissolved, and will cease to exist. I am the last remaining member of TAP, and I have decided that it is not worth the heartache of keeping it anymore.
To try and give resources to the community all of the TAP social media pages and the website will remain active for one week. All of the videos that are published on the website will be made PUBLIC on RU-vid until the week has finished. If there are any videos that you would personally like you may email me at archiveprojectvidoes@gmail.com with specific names or links from RU-vid. I have created a google drive containing all of the videos from our RU-vid channel, and the google drive will remain active and available for access indefinitely.
Note: I realize now that the email has a typo, but every video is already uploaded to the drive attached to this email so it won't be changed.
It’s crazy that a few weeks after the Titanic sank the White Star Line was to set the Olympic (titanic sister ship) off on her maiden voyage, again, with not enough lifeboats. The sailors mutinied before the voyage could set off so they pulled on lifeboats from any boat they could buy one from.. some were broken and most were collapsable. The White Star Line also charged the grieving families of lost employees for the cost of the white star line uniform that they died wearing. One of humanities top hits!
Just want to Thank James Cameron for sharing these videos! After I saw the documentary style movie in 2003 I hoped that the entirety of the footage they captured would be released to the public. My Great Grandfathers Brother, Henry Hansen, lost his life in this tragedy. My Mom told me the story of how her Grandparents never heard a word of whether he was one of those recovered at sea and then tossed back in with a quick prayer as he was steerage. If they found steerage passenger bodies after the “accident” they looked for identification that may be on them, tied a 50 pound weight to their legs and put them back in the sea with a prayer. My Great grandparents were angry about that though they never knew if he was found. I’m not sure if that’s a blessing or a curse.
5:25 is that a buffet style coffee distributor? I don’t even know what they are called now.. but it looks like a coffee thing. By it are a pair of shoes and a mug.. that last cup of the hot stuff before going into the freezing sea
It would be interesting if the robot could use its arms to scrap mudd off the wall that had the honor and glory clock on the grand staircase if it's hidden or still there.
You know, even after the whole ship wreck dissolves and there are just artifacts on the bottom of the Atlantic, you're still going to have treasure hunters going down there
14:08 I paused it here and it’s so black that my phone screen looked off and it’s on full brightness I didn’t even know that was technologically possible. Friggen wild
Condolences to the people of titanic however I believe that the people who claimed not even God can sink her I see this as one of the biggest slaps God ever got in the face God created the endless universe and knows the exact number of atoms in the universe but also knows every electron on that atom .Titanic serves as a reminder never to challenge God that's why titanic is everything you expect deep scary ECT don't worry the anchor still works .
it be cool to see a Pixar Version of Ship sinking hitting the bottom and the fish living their every day lives being rained down upon ....imagine what this all looked like within a week of the sinking - everything was still BRAND NEW
the 2 halves had a toxic relationship, the bow caused all the problems but the stern suffered the most. i saw that comment somewhere and it always springs to mind when i see the stern, it's so sad to see it like this
I wish we had the audio for the James Cameron video. He does a good job of explaining where they are and what they are looking at, which is super helpful when the objects or rooms are especially bad shape or when the video is really dark.
It would be super cool! Unfortunately, there was only one way into that room and the steward attending the bath closed the water tight bulkhead the night of the sinking. Our only way of ever accessing it would greatly put the Titanic’s ruins at risk. She’s an old broken vessel, and can only take so much tampering. Hopefully as 3d imaging gets better we may be able to see inside the wreck in that way. If I could suggest you watch a walkthrough of a 3d Titanic model called “Titanic Honor and Glory” there are tons of video walkthroughs on youtube!
I just watched Aladdin with my 5 year old, you know in the movie when they go into the cave to get the lamp, and the giant sand tiger thing says "who disturbs my slumber!" but still allowed Aladdin inside to search for the lamp. And they are inside being really careful because at any time the cave can collapse on them at anytime if they screw up. Thats what I think of when I see clips like this. The Titanic is alive.
"It's really deteriorated in the last couple years" is somewhat painful to hear when you consider how long ago this was and just how much more deteriorated the wreck has become in the last 21 years since she made that statement. She noticed a difference in two short years so just imagine what that difference would be in two long decades.
5:24 tell me that doesn't look like a person standing inside that window lol I know it's just the light make an optical illusion but it was still startling
