im a retired american trucker. ive pulled triples in the mountains of the west coast for 30 years. ive went everrywhere they asked me to go. ive had the living shit scared out of me so many times i cant remember most. ive had my sets spin around 360 degrees so many times in the middle of the highway it seems ridiculous. Ive ALWAYS wanted to run the Austrailian road trains. i grew up 5 blocks from Kenworth. id give ANYTHING to run a big train acrossed the outback. id pay all my own travel and do it for free. i met an italian gentleman one time that had actually done it. he said it was a 3 man team. the passenger seat was always filled with a man with a shotgun ready to shoot "roos" . i guess they end up in the radiator and shut the trucks down in the middle of nowhere. wow. I wanna do that. If you know anyone who may give me a drive test let me know. im serious! i know many american truckers who want the sa,me thing. im a good mechanic. the us army says im an 'expert' rifleman. how fun would that be!!!!! omg! im serious. ill run for 3-4 months if i have to for free. ive never had an accident in nearly 3 million miles.
I used to the truck the Tanami starting in the early 70s, it’s a different breed of drivers now with 600+ horsepower, air conditioning, dust proof cabins and tubeless tyres. . The new soft drivers couldn’t do what we did back then.
@@Xtralge4ee thx. I included the dolly in the axel count. I drive rigs here in the US. We don’t have road trains here, yet, but I don’t give it long before our doubles (26’rs) become road trains.
You snap axles because your power train is incorrect linked to your diff ratios. Over powering is not the answer, running numbers and engineers computations and calculations will always give the correct power train in any environment. Listen and learn from professionals not road Bogans .....
Minister for transport for the Northern Territory needs to be sacked immediately !! He's obviously resting on his laurels (and hemoroids) too much ! No reason for a dirt road, instead of bitumen, bl**dy wankers !!
Its not worth the money they pay you to cart there shit the conditions on the equiment is to hard all you do is put it all back in the gear and at the end of the Day the gear is still fucked i Know ? Been there done that and have the Badge
This is an old video now.... 2019. I driven that road many times. If ya go slow enough it’s ok. 3 days from halls creek to Alice after believing to the cranites
I hope that this has been fixed now or if not the Bilato brothers can hep pay and fix this road instead of complain about it if there the ones driving on it as well as other tracking companies should help pay for the upgrades as well
The best thing about the Tanami s the loss of vibrations and noise when you pull over and stop for a break. A real rattler. And that was in a comfortable Toyota 4wd! (heading for the CSR)
I am hard pressed to feel anything positive regarding the australians any more . Y'all voted yourselves into the way you are. Too stupid to build a supported railway, and take some of the profits away from politicians and put them back in the pockets what done the work, not those that told the deed expecting a paycheck. Make your mooslum population start hauling goods on their heads.
Australia hasn't got the population for a rail network, for example, Western Australia has an area of 2.5 million square kilometres, with a population of 2.6 million, the majority in the South West and 2 million in Perth. Australia is 2/3 desert.
Jesus, you actually think the way we vote makes any fucking difference. All politicians are in the pockets of corporations. We need to neck them all and start again.
It's up to the owners of the gold mines to fix the roads if they want supplies to get through. If they can't afford to do it then they can fuck off! Why should taxpayers subsidize rich foreign corporations? This subsidizing of foreign corporations is going on all around Australia plus the bastards don't even pay any tax! Bring on One Nation to get rid of these parasites and look after Australians.
Sorry, but it just looks to me that people have got soft. Compared to most of the Great Northern Highway in WA back in 1964, it looks a dream ! The bitumen stopped just outside Geraldton in those days, & the good gravel round about Northsmpton!
Bryan Wheeler the trucks are bigger heavier and go faster than back then though and more traffic and people. That roads still rough and it roots the trucks. I hear what your saying but the government could do more to maintain it
