While I agree with most of what you’re saying, there is an argument that less-lethal kinetic equipment would be best used in some cases-obviously Tasers and baton rounds.

I know ex police officers who hated having to retire If you think about it you have some officers who have been in 20 odd years. The one minute they are an officer trained in departments such as traffic, firearms, dog handling, counter terrorism e.t.c then the next minute they walk out the door they are back to square one again.
Not all gun owners are criminals, a huge number of people have lawful access to section 1 and even section 5 firearms. I think your criticism of those who have guns should be aimed at those who unlawfully posess them.

I don't like BMW motorcycles. These police BMWs are so absurdly overloaded with all kinds of gadgets. BMW motorcycles (apart from the S1KR2) have absolutely no character. They look like industrial vacuum cleaners and sound like crap. Japanese and especially Italian motorcycles are much, much better. Why didn't the authorities at least buy Moto Guzzi as service motorcycles? And I'm from Germany and I know what I'm talking about.
