Nice to see someone who has been on the front line, right in the hot seat being in charge, instead of a clue less bean counter who is only there as it might help his promotion!! Well done Mick, and another great Vid Ben...
I’ve had a shit experience with the police where I live corrupt force Lancaster police I’ve watched the way these officers have dealt with people on tv and I think what a difference in mannorisms actually doing their jobs and not just pushing for promotion and statistics
I heard “Chief Inspector Mick Roffe” and thought “well he’s gone up in the world, hasn’t he?” Great to see a couple of veteran officers chatting about a traffic car.
The fact the force are integrating with your social media presence is significant and welcome. A worthy Chief, Nick should remain your go to for bringing modern Policing to the channel. The saying "once you ain't blue, no more you" seems to be not true in this case. A very welcome addition. Well done Ben. 😎
Remember how good a driver Mick Roffe was on the old traffic cops programme...not many if any out did Mick in a car chase...Good to see Mick has moved up to Chief Inspector now 👏🏻👏🏻 Well done Ben...Another great video m8...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 P.s still chuckling Ben when u said to Mick "get your stinger out...show us your weapon son"...lol...😂😂😂😂
Great video Ben and a great car! Mick’s done really well for himself since the old Traffic Cop days, good to see. These types of video are really interesting, keep them coming 👍
Love this, great video and awesome to see Nick is chief inspector now. Would be brilliant to see this again with different cars and different faces from the TV show
I was a member of a golf club in the late 90s early 2000s. We had many police officers as members. The normal officers had little to do with the traffic cops. “They’d book their owns mothers!” I hope things have changed.
Excellent presentation, and how all the kit is shoehorned into that boot 😮 Well done guys and your promotion to TCI Mick, now we can see why you got promoted 😂😂 Iain
Good to see you again Mr Roffe. I remember you pulling me on my bike, and you being a very young arrogant young man with little knowledge on sections 163,164 and 165. (I won that case by the way), but I would like to congratulate you on becoming Chief Inspector. I do hope that arrogance has gone. Take care.
Decent bit of kit. Drove through Yorkshire yesterday plenty of signs up encouraging motorists to slow down. Beautiful part of the world but the bottom line is enjoy it but get home safe. 90mph down the dales is straight up madness
Thanks for the review Ben and also nice to see a fellow traffic cops star. I'm starting my new honest car review channel, which also reviews for disabled people.
Had a 135 for 2.5 yrs, competent little car but it's front wheel drive until it looses grip when the rears come in so it doesn't drive like a RWD biased X-drive 3 or 4 series for instance like the 335D X-drive I had previously. As a result it does torque steer quite badly under acceleration which makes it a little less engaging to drive I guess. Benefits from selecting the active damper option from factory as well in terms of cornering as most BMW's do. Biggest gripe for me, as with most BMW's, is the throttle mapping in the different driving modes; be great to make it more linear across the modes and leave economy / performance to the gearbox - otherwise if you use the different modes you have to "learn" the throttle map under your foot. That and the steering wheel is way too chunky 😉
He can't say if it modded, hmmm, wonder if they fit a 4 inch decat, uprated intercooler, air intake, higher capacity fuel pumps and then a cheeky hybrid turbo.
Ben have North Yorkshire traffic got the BMW 135i on the fleet due to BMW no longer providing any of the 3.0diesels in the 330 530 & X5 to UK police forces due to oil starvation problems is it all cars with the N54 diesel engine. West Yorkshire have still got 330d"s , while walking my dog at 4ish I've seen 1 today. In Wakefield recently I've seen Leon Cupra estate traffic car unmarked. Noticed the 135i had YJ all west Yorkshire cars start YJ in the registration plate. Ben watching the video you make your ex colleague look small either that or your huge , as usual great video .
Totally!!! "Car's a bit chavvy, and surprise surprise, it's blasting out dnb from your shitbag's ram-raided acquisitions" I just love how honest and candid Ben is on his youtube.@@ozaricblox2016
Love to see an older Vectra C traffic car and this motor head to head on a simulated response on a track, I bet the 135 would run rings around the old Vectras.
Police car with double bass setup, sweet. Car does look great compared to our old 80s astra. Would be interesting getting a traffic officers aspects on what cars are the main ones criminals used that gave them a run for their money
Here to educate? I live in North Yorkshire and we have mobile speed vans. These are usually parked in stealth mode and not in accident black spots. A good cash generater for NYP.
A few years ago now but had the pleasure of sitting in a North Yorkshire Subaru Impreza STI traffic car......fair enough it was at the end of the Skipton bypass in the passenger seat getting a bit of a telling off.😬😬
My uncle used to have one of them, git rid of it became he said its too unpredictable as the power its trying to put through its wheels makes it a problem. ** his wasnt this new one, his was rwd i believe hence its issues. Awd makes more sense
BMW's I ever owned dead Skippy on the back end 330i and 335i! RWD only The older 135i is a widow maker 🥵. 306 bhp to the 4 wheels x-drive you need particularly with the UK weather and pot like the Grand Canyon and low maintenance.
A couple of questions: 1 How many takes to get that stack of cones out of the boot in one go without them getting stuck lol :) and 2: The stinger. Do you ever get loose "stings" that have been pulled from the main body but come out of the tyre scattered around the area especially after a tyre has shredded after some plonker carried on trying to drive?
2:49 please as if ben doesn't know the answer to that question and that he was going to get that reply ;) He just knew the audience would want that asking!
Brilliant video, but also I will tell you.. police have some type of performance map tuned into the software as I used to build police vehicles, they’re never standard, usually todays figures would be classed as stage 2!
Nice, these front ends lift at high speed, I work in recovery and as soon as you see a 1 series it’s guaranteed to be a single vehicle where the driver just lost control
