Hi, I'm seeing an additional procedure calling for removing the 2 pipes connected to the reservoir and running fluid through them. I'm wanting to ask if you did that or not? Thanks.
Hi, I didn't feel the need to do that. Instead, I unbolted the reservoir so I could top it off with fresh fluid, shake it to clean and then flushed. Hope that helps.
@@ferrari458life Thanks for the text. Yes, I only got ~20 ounces of old fluid out by opening up the banjo bolts (drain plugs). The system shold have about 60 ounces. I'm wondering if I do that additional procedure if I will get more out. Any thoughts? Thanks.
@@herbgoodw9421did you turn the engine on and apply steering lock to both sides? That should drain more fluid. If not, add some fresh fluid to the reservoir and run the steering lock procedure again.
@@mintimage Thanks - one other question, do you recall should the drain plugs for the 2 rack and pinion hoses where the power steering fluid is flushed have 1 crush washer (banjo bolt head side) or 2 on the banjo bolts (one of each side of the hose fitting)? Mine had 2 on the smaller banjo bolt. The larger one had 1. I'm looking at the FSM it kind of indicates only one on both. Thanks.
Great job and looks amazing! I just ordered the flat paint and going to try it out. Did you spray paint the overhead dome light unit and the HAVC temp unit without remove them? Do you think if it is safe to spray paint the entire HVAC temp unit and dome light unit? the overhead dome light has a clear plastic window.
Thank you. My overhead light panel and HVAC controls were in good shape so I didn't recondition those. I think applying the same process to the HVAC controls would be totally fine. The overhead cluster might be difficult to spray with the inverted position, so I'd recommend removing that to use the spray can in an upright or slightly downward angle to get a clean finish. Good luck!
This module is the anti-lift sensor. This sensor detects when the car is lifted and if the car is locked, triggers the alarm. This can prevent wheels from being stolen or the car being towed away.
@@user-ek8ki6fl7j You're welcome. Yes, this 'anti-lift' sensor is different to the front axle lift feature and is an anti-theft feature. When this module is faulty, it can cause the random triggering of the alarm.
What an amazing transformation. I've spent thousands on getting these parts professionally refurbished. Your technique looks perfect for a lot less money and most of all the aggravation of removing parts and waiting for them to come back before you can drive the car. Great job! Thanks for posting it.
I’m sorry to hear that. Contact GoPro support. They know this is an issue. I have a feeling it’s related to the power/charging module. They sent me a replacement and that’s been fine.
Thank you. No, I just masked around them. Tedious, but not as risky as disassembling the steering wheel. I also did the gear selectors and trunk/fuel filler release panel. I removed both of those.
