Ferrari Sticky Buttons DIY Fix Without Disassembly

A DIY procedure to remove the sticky coating that affects many cars and restore the OEM matt finish.
A couple of notes:
1 .Denatured alcohol is not the same as isopropyl alcohol. Use denatured!
2. Be patient and VERY GENTLE when removing the sticky residue to ensure you don't damage the screen printed labels under the coating. Use multiple light wipes with a microfibre cloth and q-tips instead of heavy pressure.
3. Wait until surfaces are fully dried after cleaning with the alcohol (approx 15 mins in a well ventilated area) before applying the coating.

What an amazing transformation. I've spent thousands on getting these parts professionally refurbished. Your technique looks perfect for a lot less money and most of all the aggravation of removing parts and waiting for them to come back before you can drive the car. Great job! Thanks for posting it.

우와~ 정말 유용한 정보 감사 드림니다^^ 일찍 알았다면 게시자님 공유한것 처럼 저도 셀프로 했을텐데..,2주전에 업체에 맡겨서 시공 하였네요ㅠ다른파츠 쪽에 멜팅현상 생기면 다음에 저도 도전 해보겠어요ㅎ

Thank you. No, I just masked around them. Tedious, but not as risky as disassembling the steering wheel. I also did the gear selectors and trunk/fuel filler release panel. I removed both of those.

Great job and looks amazing! I just ordered the flat paint and going to try it out. Did you spray paint the overhead dome light unit and the HAVC temp unit without remove them? Do you think if it is safe to spray paint the entire HVAC temp unit and dome light unit? the overhead dome light has a clear plastic window.

Thank you. My overhead light panel and HVAC controls were in good shape so I didn't recondition those. I think applying the same process to the HVAC controls would be totally fine. The overhead cluster might be difficult to spray with the inverted position, so I'd recommend removing that to use the spray can in an upright or slightly downward angle to get a clean finish.
