LOVE EDISTO BEACH, been going between Christmas and New Years for a long time now. I did not know you could walk out in the marsh, the drive that leads into the campground there are a couple of places you can get to marsh and I throw my cage there. My problem has been the size I'm catching are smaller. I guess I'll be trying something different this year, looks like nice weather so excited about that.
I love persimmons, too!! I want to tell you actually Fuyu persimmons are intended to be eaten when they are crunchy. There’s another type of persimmons that are intended to be eaten when ripe and soften, but NOT Fuyu!
Please can somebody help me with a question? I planted several muscadine seeds and after a few weeks I didn't see any growth I used that soil for something else. Now I have plants I'm not sure what it is Lol. Please can someone tell me what does a muscadine plant looks like after it grows the first few leaves? I have plants that has a leaf on opposite sides that has a distinguishing line in the middle, but above those two leaves are other jagged looking leaves, could this be muscadine or is it something else. I have to confess that I'm impatient, but I'm learning. Seems like after a while when the seeds don't take I'm planting something else. I did orange the same way, but I think I know what it looks like. Please dont think bad of me people, I'm learning different plants and I'm learning to not put so much water into plants, in which I've learned by error. Gots to love me!!! Lol!
I really appreciate your timeline photos. I bought a three gallon Fuyu persimmon about six feet tall. Well, 5 feet not counting the pot, three years ago at the Columbia SC farmers market. It hurt the pocket book . I planted it right and watered it about three time the first summer. It grew. The next year it tried a few fruits but failed. This past year it started about two dozen fruits but dropped all but 6. they were delicious. I pruned it in December and saved the twigs in the refridgerator. I found two 18 inch diameter native persimmons on my property in December and collected 200 of the seeds. Some i dried and some i put in moist peat in the fridge. I plan to graft them if they germinate. I would like a Persimmon orchard full one day. Your timeline matches mine.
Hi! Did your plants germinated from seed produce well? In the video you show that you've bought six plants from a nursery and they grew very fine. But those that grew from seed are they producing?
How did you get the seeds from your friend to germinate and what happens during winter? Did your seedlings lose there's leaves and come back in the spring? I have some seedlings from my grandfather vine that sprouted out of the ground. Dug it up and it was fine until fall and hasn't come back yet.
i saved some scuppernong seeds in the fridge from sept till 3-1-21 planted them in potting soil already see tiny green 3-9-21 i may have some seedlings for sale later this year

I love seeing people get into something and do it nicely right from the start. This is going to be amazing in a few years. We do chestnuts, and there just isn't anything better than producing the best there is right at home. Great job! Subbed
I don’t presume to be an expert, but my fruit trees when they dropped the fruit was because of the lack of iron, somebody mentioned, see if you can find some of those big nails used to nail down railroads, nail it at the base of the tree, and eventually , when it gets rusty , the rust will give nutrients to the tree for years to come, I tried it and it work, now not even one tenth of the fruit is lost
Hey Perry I met y’all a couples weeks ago at Jeremy cay so glad I feel like I met the Jeremy cay legend we heading down right now didn’t know if you might be down
Everything we need comes from the ground. God is so generous giving us home, food, and also the ability to taste and see the colors of everything that we want to eat. Thanks Jehovah :)
