Perry wanted his own muscadines. As a simple home gardener he planted seeds and nursey stock very successfully. He followed this process for three years with video updates until he was eating his own delicious fruit in abundance.

I was “just a guy who wanted his own muscadines” in 2018. Wound up planting 400 vines. Yes, it is can be hard work installing and maintaining a vineyard. Got my own muscadines though, and a few for others soon hopefully.

I bought some growth hormone for plants and used it to propagate desirable plants, saving a lot of money. It came in powder form. I just dampen the scion and dip it in the powder, then put it in the ground with water and mulch to keep the ground moist until it puts out more leaves.

What has happened to your videos of your muscadine vines? Do you still have them and how are they doing? Hope all is well.

Do you make jelly, jam and hull pie. I use agar agar to thicken my jelly and jam and use 1 cup sugar per gallon of juice and pulp. I buy the agar agar at the oriental store (they came in 2 stick packages at 0.7 oz. and I use 1 stick per 2 cups juice and or pulp, the jam is soft form) cheaper than the powder in the health food stores. Enjoy the flavor with much less sugar. Process in hot water bath 10 - 15 minutes. Adjust to how firm you like your jams and jellies. Have fun.

you may not know this but the skin of the muscadine has more vitamins than grapes also te seed has property that helps prevent aging drug makers value these seeds highly just so you know.

Growing from seed is a great project, but you really have no clue if your plant has all the good "genes" from the mother plant.....in other words it's a total gamble! Grafting is the only sure method to really know what you will get.
@frankdavidson9675
@frankdavidson9675 4 года назад
who knows --- if you plant a seed if may be like vine you took it from it may be better bigger taste better that is how all the different types came about so plant a lot and hope for the best you will get someting
