I'm pretty stoked I,just bought an 88 SR5 it's not perfect but that is ok. I also have a sweet 93 with all the goods. I like the 1st gen better, they just look cool.
I have the same 4 star dragonball as my shifter knob on my 87 toyota pickup lol just ordered the switch. Been thinking about installing one for a while now. Thanks for this!
I have to ask.. How can you run 38s with long travel and not have the tire slam the top of the fender well? I have 295/70/17s and my tires slam my upper factory fender well before my bump stops hit. The only way I foresee fixing this issue is cutting all of it out, relocating everything and tubing the fenderwell..
That would be the coil spring I run, they’re rated at 700lb so the ride is a bit stiffer but it keeps everything up, bypass shocks also help a lot. I’ve personally never have had the tire slam up into the fender , even fully flexed
Also with my long travel kit being a + 5, it doesn’t go anywhere near the inner fender line, it completely clears. Even a 3.5 kit will clear but you’ll still get slight rub. Perks of long travel is your wider
@@MAMMOTH4RUNNER Yeah, I have the camburg 3.5" LT kit with 1" spacers. 82" track width. My tires don't clear the fender well and rub under full bump. I have the same 700lb springs as you and fox bypasses with stiffer valving.
I’ve been looking at these but I’m still on the fence. They looks great but does it function great. Do you still think it’s a good choice or have you had some issues with it since you’ve installed?
Is this older version of Mammoth Runner with front long travel and a mid travel rear? Now Mammoth Runner is running long travel front and rear, right? Regardless it still looked great!
Such a badass build! This is an inspiration for when I start building my 5th gen! The new 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra won’t last like these will. They look great but Toyota really dropped the ball on their engine choices IMO.
