A regular guy with an American Dream. I often find myself in some pretty interesting situations. Please follow me along my journey.
Follow along to view educational and informative videos on: mechanic repair, home maintenance, engineering, tractor repair, boat maintenance and any other random broken thing we can get our hands on. It reminds me of the old "Power Block" television program that used to air shows like Hot Rod TV, Trucks and Shade Tree mechanic. It's only lacking a few things, notably Courtney Hansen, a large budget and good editing.

Thanks! I really liked the first position and orientation better..... It just didn't fit. I will have to keep that in mind. Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁
If I'm not mistaking that is a Hyster model 30 you have there, I just got me an old toy to play a 2000 Hyster 50 and the brakes are gone so I learned a lot with this video . Thanks for sharing
I believe mine is a Spacesaver model, she's quite a bit older than your unit. The brake shoes could share some similarities in design, though I am not overly familiar. Get those brakes fixed! I used mine for too long without good stopping power. This leather wrapped shoe still works. Thanks for watching! 👍😁
@@jeffdukelow no nothing more on this unit though I think it still needs more work to be 100%. It's hiding out in the pallet rack. Potentially a future video depending on the scope of the repair.
I’d invest in some contact cleaner WD-40 makes it now or just order aftermarket off Amazon,, but any and all point to point contact on electrical I would definitely hit it with the contact cleaner, and any and all mechanical contact id lithium grease those while apart and doth those done it’ll be as new when back together.. won’t have to be chasing down short circuit later.. you’ll be enjoying your finished project..
Good idea! I usually have a can of CRC branded contact cleaner on hand (literally every time I use it).....I need to investigate the electrical plug connection further. It was giving me issues at the connection point.... Thanks for watching! 👍😁
While it works, it was slightly different than the original and the quality was a little suspect. I just bagged the old pieces and probably will roll with the new one unless it gives me issues. Thanks for watching! 👍😁
Those speed cables on those are always a pain in the butt to unhook. Hardly ever any extra cable length to pull the dash cluster out enough to be able to squeeze it hard enough to remove
They can be a struggle with the limited space.....I didn't show it, but it took 3 different angles on the cluster to find the best position to fit my big mitt in there. Thanks for watching! 👍😁
Bummer..... More than double the repair required in this video. Decks are a pretty common problem area for several houses. People just slap a ledger board on the house and let'er rot. Best of luck on the repair! 👍😁
I think you might be right or the tappet driven fuel pump was eating itself. Something was definitely putting metal in the intake. The owner decided it was time for a trade in 🙄. Thanks for watching 👍😁
They sent me a new one free of charge.... Awesome warranty and company. I repaired the old one with the hot glue gun..... Couldn't just throw it away! #Gearwrench #awesome #toolhoarder
Hey Andy is your crane made by Hybab or something like that? The reason I ask is back in the 70's I worked for the railroad and our gang truck had a crane just like that.
Thanks! I think anyone willing to purchase and assemble one of these will likely be joining me (if I ever make it). Thanks for watching and building a fun playset for your kids! 👍😁
Nice, I’ve got the same problem with a 2014 Lincoln MKZ. Checked the fuse and relay, all good. Narrowed it down to the horn/connection so I’ll be doing the same when I get time
I hope you can access it without removing the front bumper cover. It's a teeny tiny hole I worked thru, but it was much easier than removing inner fenders. I am still in contention that this connection would be fine if protected from corrosion at the factory with die electric grease. Thanks for watching and sharing! 👍😁
Especially with a load on the 🪝. It's all good though and nothing really surprises me anymore. Just another opportunity to fix something I suppose 🙄. Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁
Thanks Donnie! I had plans for it to be a more complete video, but the crane engine malfunction derailed the process. Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁
These are still working good! Every once in a while I catch a rounded tooth and it skips a tooth or two. I will keep on turning these until they are toast. Thanks for watching! 👍😁
@@FlatThunder If you clean the old one up and put in a new diaphragm it should work. If your tank is a mess any carb you put on won't work long. Be sure to look for a crack in the pickup tube. Mine is running ok with the chinese carb, cost me 20 dollars.
Thanks Zane! I was pretty happy with the end result on this one. I started on it and made things up as I went. I hope it works out well for them. Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁
Lots of assemblers are novice home owners lacking experience and the convenience of specialty tools. If you can fully assemble this specific unit in 10 hours you my friend are a wizard. Thanks for watching. 👍😁
I've been used to changing the oil on my own vehicle. Got the wife a 2009 focus and am going to change the oil. I always do research on the type of vehicle I'm about to work on because sometimes you need special tools and so on. So thank you for this it really helped and let me know I have all the tools already
You're welcome! I too usually scope out YT for tips n tricks. Thanks for watching and sharing! 👍😁. BTW I have an evaporator brand new in box for this car I'll sell you cheap if you cover shipping. I have no use for it.
Same. Scoping for tips and abnormalities has saved me a couple headaches. Grease monkey left the old filter seal on my buddy's engine and we all know what happened. I REFUSE to let those kind of places change my oil. I got this car for my daughter to use.
@@jdc8352 I remember laughing at Dad the first time he did that by mistake....Then I did it less than 2 months later! 🤣 I always look for the old gasket on the filter now.
Nice job on the install Andy. I honesty would have just found a good quadrabog guy to rebuild the old carb. Just FYI marine applications are sometimes different from automotive. I've seen carbs and intakes machined at a slight angle lless than 90 degrees from the block to keep fuel levels in the carb correct when the boat is getting out of the hole and trimming out on plane. Thanks for posting.
Good point, I never thought about a different intake to compensate for boat ride angles. This customer wanted the smooth easy starts EFI provides. I think they are going to enjoy its performance. I will assist them in a couple more tests to verify it's functioning correctly. So far out of the box it's working great with a little IAC adjustment. Thanks for watching and sharing my Friend! 👍😁
Depends on the machine and how far you have to travel to the position you're spreading. With the site prepped and the pile in or next to the drive it shouldn't take more than 1-2 hours with this machine. 1-2's size gravel, thanks for watching and sharing 👍😁
Thanks for the video. That's not a rear washer it's the bearing outer race. If you buy new bearings they come with the inner and outer races. Also it's easier to get a tire on if you keep it in the rim valley as you push it onto the rim.
Thanks! Those tires were a real poop show for me to replace. I was definitely struggling on that one. They are still holding air and working great! Not sure why we dealt with leaky tires for so long? Thanks for watching and sharing! 👍😁

did you consider adding the adhesive to all the wood on wood areas ? like all the wall slats? Just asking if set feels loose I saw that on some reviews
I only added it on the stairs and, I believe, the roof sheeting. I think it could be added anywhere on the assembly without much issue. The difficult part is it's messy and it will squeeze out at the joints. Thanks for watching! 👍😁

You do not need to grease the truck to change the oil, but it's good standard practice to regularly grease the chassis. Newer vehicles removed grease points and opted for throw away replacement components. Regularly greasing will improve the life of u-joints and suspension components. Thanks for watching 👍😁
Good work, I have one suggestion. You want to separate the sill plate from the concrete with a membrane so the wood doesn’t take on the direct moisture the concrete wicks.
We had a very similar model and it was nice watching you build yours. Dude, that tube slide is a pain in the butt. I'm on day 3 tomorrow and hope to be done with it. 🤞🤞
