The rhythm section sounds funkier than when Bruford sat behind the drum kit. Not sure if that's a reflection of this being a totally an American group or if they're just trying to do it slightly different. Regardless I'm digging it.
@@DKStanford definitely a bit funkier and it’s sounding great. Vai is also a bit looser and more melodic than Fripp which also gives the music a refreshing new feel.
Seen a few whales since then and they are usually moving quick, lucky to see them at all...these guys were different, just taking a break and chilling there in that cove...
You can tell this isn’t the 1980’s because we were jumping up and down, bee bopping to the music, then! Saw the B-52’s so many times and always had a blast! Especially at Club Foot in Austin, Texas!
What seats did you have? Do you think an average sized person can see over taller people with the slight uphill incline? Trying to decide which seats I might want for September.
I was right behind the soundboard one seat to the left (SEC2 Row T Seat 35). Everybody stood up for the whole show so I did have to move slightly left or right for a guy in front of me. The sound was excellent where I was.
Chick would say if he didn't agree with a foul called, "If he hit his wife that hard, she wouldn’t even call the police". Or perhaps a foul not called, "He could've made that call with Braille".
@@genie9959 Driving last night with the radio on, some sports station was talking about Chick Hearn. If I heard it correctly, Chick was a WW2 or Korean Ace fighter pilot. Pretty amazing life if this is even partly true.
@@dcfunhouse hmm, his obit says he was stationed in the South Pacific (Army) during WW II...I don't think tthe pilot thing is true www.nytimes.com/2002/08/07/sports/chick-hearn-85-the-voice-of-the-los-angeles-lakers.html
@@genie9959 this is what chatgtp gave me when i asked if hearn was in the armed forces: Chick Hearn served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He served as a B-24 Liberator bomber pilot in the Pacific theater and was awarded several medals, including the Air Medal, for his service. After the war, Hearn returned to the United States and began his career as a sportscaster, eventually becoming one of the most recognizable and beloved voices in the world of basketball.
Thanks for posting this. I was never a NBA fan until I watched a couple of Bird videos and saw how much I had missed by not watching these games. I did listen to many college basketball games on my radio but was more interested watching football games.
The thing I could never understand about the Celtics was why they selected so many big white guys who really couldn’t dominate. I lived in Utah at the time and I saw the BYU players who really weren’t that great in college? Go figure? Just one or two other dominant big men would have made all the difference and I suspect they could have ended up with 5 championships rather than 3. Parish really needed a stronger backup center to give him the needed rest as he got older. Walton was great, but his feet gave out and then they had no one behind Parish. So sad.
This MAY be the last great, epic, and unforgettable game between the Lakers and the Celtics for this (80’s)era!? Great action the whole way through and an unbelievable ending!!!
To give you just a glimpse of how the game has changed: In this game the Dallas Mavericks shot 8 three pointers and the Lakers shot 7. For a total of 15 three-pointers. These two teams played a double OT game on Jan 12th of this year and they combined for EIGHTY-THREE three-pointers attempted. (Also, the foul at the 12:00 mark just being a regular 2 shot foul is kinda funny)
I thought the same when I saw that clothesline foul on Byron Scott, these days Flagrant 1 for sure maybe Flagrant 2, good analysis of the three pointers too (15 to 83 is an increase of 453%!!!)
This game was so eerily similar to game 4 of the '87 Finals. The Celtics play a solid 3rd quarter to take a 6 pt lead that was chipped away at by the Lakers until the final seconds. A bad call off a missed free throw sets LA up at midcourt down by 1. Magic shocks everyone with a game winner in Chief's face.
Exactly. If not for MANY bad calls in the 4th quarter, Game 4 of the Finals in 87, the Celtics would've tied the series 2-2, and likely take a 3-2 lead back to The Forum, against the greatest Laker team ever. Then in 2010, Game 7 in Staples, with Boston up 13-14 points in the 4th quarter, the refs made sure Kobe and Gasol were on the FT line pretty much every single time down court, to eke out a "win". The Celtics take it in the ass by the refs pretty much 95% of the time against the Lakers since 1987, so it is so hilarious to see Lebron James of ALL people, and the LA Lakers of ALL teams, whining about a missed call this past weekend. Well Lakers, now you know how us Boston fans have been feeling for the past 36 years when we play you.
Ive got a fucking migraine 4 min in from the constant flashing on the screen. How can there not be a better quality version out there from 87😂 I was watching a game from 73 and it was better than this lol.
