''Ireland is one of the most friendly places I've traveled to'' Now watch as it becomes one of the most unfriendly places thanks to the government allowing tens of thousands of immigrants into the country who don't respect our culture, try to impose their culture on us, don't show proper respect and take advantage of our generosity
Met this gentleman in April, I was looking for my grandmother’s grave unfortunately by the time I bumped into him it was too late as we had to go to catch our flight. Still had a nice chat with him for a minute or two, he knew my aunt who lived in Shantalla, lovely fella.
Lovely interview with a very nice man. Always visit Hollands when I’m home for a holiday to get the lotto and the papers. I agree about the traffic in Galway it’s awful but I’m not sure a Luas type system would work. Perhaps a park and ride system might also be considered, it works for Oxford which is a similar sized place.
I am really enjoying these interviews a lot of what he said I heard from my mum and dad. Dad was from Woodquay and mum was from The Claddagh and eventually lived in Henry street. My dads parents ended up in Mervue when it was first constructed.
Another lovely interview, I agree with him if you have family buried in Forthill cemetery then you’re a true Galwegian. I do from both sides of my family. I also agree with his comments about the sea. Galway is lucky to be on the sea and served by the river Corrib.
Lovely interview, although I don’t agree with her on the “no craic in the pubs” comment as I always find plenty of craic in the pubs in Galway. Perhaps she means the craic is different on that I can agree. Although she was spot on about the cost of drink.
Billy, your thoughtful insights are very intelligent, pertinent and gentle. Just like your lovely self. Remembering your talented and hospitable parents: Mary and Doney. Tressan.
My Granny, Hannah Burke Dooley lived in St Joseph's Avenue and the Ó Toole's ran a great shop, with the old fashioned three sided counters. I loved running in there as a child, after lunch, buying sweeties and scuttling up Raleigh Row with my sister Verran to run back up to Taylors Hill. The West is the best. Well done Toolers!
How good is this?! You're creating an internet archive of characters of historical significance & valuable information that will be appreciated long after these people will have passed. Brilliant! 💚
🤘🇮🇪Proper order my friend for publicising thiis our government have no respect for the living orrcthe dead.. & may they both R.I.P. BLACK N TANS FILTHY COWARDS.
great video, I like the longer form. You manage to get a lot of people that beat the demon drink on the channel. I don't know if that's just a coincidence but it's cool in any event. hugh seems like a really deadly guy.
@@jdinnen1 thanks again for your supporting the channel! And Hugh is an absolute gentleman with a great variety of content on his own channel linked in the description! For sure there are a few people interviewed that would have known each other through recovery and through word of mouth and referrals I had the pleasure to interview them. Others just coincidence too!
@@Emblanefilms whatever works. word of mouth seems to work it's a great project. there's so much value to stuff like this that captures people at a point and time. Keep going, it will be a valuable time capsule in years to come.
