Met this gentleman in April, I was looking for my grandmother’s grave unfortunately by the time I bumped into him it was too late as we had to go to catch our flight. Still had a nice chat with him for a minute or two, he knew my aunt who lived in Shantalla, lovely fella.

I went to see the Forthill cemetery just recently with a friend and had the great pleasure of meeting Tony there and had a great chat!. Its a beautiful , clean and so well kept cemetery with loads of History !. I would go back again. Thanks Tony ❤❤❤

I remember been kind of fascinated when i discovered that there was an old cemetery in there. I seen this gate and queried what was in there. My aunt said it was the old town graveyard. I pulled the car over across the road one day and went in for a look. There's an awful lot of history in graveyards. Great to see this man and his family acting as custodians. Great to see old graves from the 16th Century getting maintained. There's a need for funding in terms of restoring the script on these old headstones and sandblasting the old stone.

Is this the old cemetery or the new one. If so where is the old one?

Forthill. Where is that in Galway?
