No, the Fortress was added on the current turn, so it won't get added. Remember, Fortresses cannot be added on the turn they are added or upgraded.

Oh, I do love this game! Great job teaching the solo play! Just one suggestion... The next time you guys shoot an instructional video for a publisher (which I'm going out on a limb to assume is the case here), get them to pony up for a 2nd camera, to use for close up shots. It would be very useful to see a close-up of Ego's Operation cards as you play/explain them. Otherwise, this is good stuff!

Thanks for watching and commenting! Our Cerebria series is not made for/paid by the publisher; instead, it's a game we are intimately familiar with and teach often and so thought it a good game to launch our channel. We, too, noticed in editing that Ego's cards did not come through as clearly as we had expected/hoped. : ( We have ideas on how to improve this going forward and hope you will like the solution we come up with!

Thank you for the tutorial. I'm a big Mindclash fan so this is definitely of interest to me. I might suggest that in the future you try to liven up these videos. It kind of feels like Ben Stein teaching a history class.
@TabletopTutorials

Mindclash is great and the reason we made our first video--it was for Anachrony a few years ago on my (Robert's) personal channel. We hope to eventually make videos for all of their games and expansions, as well as all of the other games we work on plus whichever other ones people want. Regarding this video, yup, it was dry. I will keep practicing trying to capture the excitement I can to an in-person demo to these recordings (this is also something I am working on with my digital demos). We tried to fix this with our Episode 2 video, so hopefully you will find that Emanuela has already brought improvement in this area. : ) Thank you for watching and giving us some feedback! We will continue to try and make our videos the best they can be for everyone willing to take the time to watch them. :D

Great video! A quick tip, you should do some research on the extra mouth noise throughout the entire video. A simple tool like a pop filter, as well as a quick audio manipulation trick can help shed that noise.
@TabletopTutorials
@TabletopTutorials 4 года назад
Thanks for watching our video! Yes, we did have more mouth noise in this video than our previous ones. We do have a pop filter, but I find our new setup (after some work on our house) has made it worse. I will indeed do some more research and continue to try and make this better for our future videos. : )

The instructions are clear and concise. This tutorial is a bit bland to sit through I am sorry to say. I know this may be beyond the effort some people may want to go through, but special effects, a few descriptive words and background music could help. I love the Fantasy Flight Games tutorials for example: Arkham Horror: The Card Game Tutorial, which can be found on RU-vid. They are captivating. Knowing already elements this game utilizes I wont need to see the rest to know the game is not for me. Already have fun games that fill those systems. This one takes a bunch of different mechanisms and mashes them together in what I can only say is unfun for myself. Playing it may change my mind but I don't want to fund games that 'might be fun'. I simply don't have that kind of money :( . This is only one game of two. I still wish to see what the other game is, for curiosity sake.
@TabletopTutorials
@TabletopTutorials 4 года назад
Thanks for watching! We do leave audio out of our tutorial videos for two reasons: 1) additional time commitment in finding thematically appropriate music with appropriate licensing (if we were to add music, we'd want to get music that matches as best as possible, and to do it the right/legal way) and 2) our current focus is in providing not just rules videos but videos that closely match our demo style that people could jump into if they want a quick refresher on a few points before they play the game (properly syncing the music for the different bookmarks would also take a little more time to do to the level we would consider acceptable). Long response short: This is something we have discussed, but we would want to ensure we had enough time to properly do it and our current work commitments severely limit our available time for production, including additional effects. But knowing that more people want this, will definitely help us to get this change in motion sooner rather than later. : ) . Same goes for special effects. As for descriptive words, yes, this could have been better and will hopefully be better in the Episode 2 video and the "final"/production game versions. We know not every game will be for everyone, but we try to provide the clearest explanation of the rules we can so that we can help people make that decision. Hopefully, Episode 2 will be more to your liking. : ) Either way, thanks again for watching (and reading this long reply, sorry!)!

We are actually already working on the Ego Playthrough Video that will be up in June. Careers, life, and more involvement in the board game industry left us with less time to work on our videos than we expected. But you will be seeing more videos coming from us at more regular intervals; our goals is to have one video ready every month or so.

15:24 since gloom did not manage to achieve its goal would not she draw up 3 cards and decide which one should be the next goal?
@TabletopTutorials
@TabletopTutorials 5 лет назад
In the Revelation that follows your timestamp, Gloom achieves both the Common Aspiration and their hidden one and wouldn't be eligible to choose their next Hidden Aspiration. Remember, you are only allowed to draw the top 3 cards from you Aspiration deck and choose one only if your team was unable to score both the Common Aspiration and your hidden one--scoring one or the other would prevent you from doing this. Hope that helps!

@@TabletopTutorials thanks, I misread this in the rules and thought if you were not able to reach your team Aspiration you might draw 3 regardless of the Common Aspiration award.

Thank you for the playthrough! Just a question: does quell remove the emotion altogether or just decrease 1 essence from the emotion?
@TabletopTutorials
@TabletopTutorials 5 лет назад
Thank you for watching! Quell only removes Essence not the Emotion. If, however, the last Essence counter is removed from an Emotion, the Emotion is removed from the board and returned either to its respective deck (for Mild and Strong Emotions) or to the box (for Starting Emotions). Hopefully this is clear and helps!

was very confused at first, for the command cards, as the frame has a symbol on the left card, I used that as an action for the EGO. Finally gave up with the management of the EGO being so complex with all the priorities making it difficult and long each turn. Will try again someday. Honestly from the team of Anachrony, I'm very disappointed, the Chronobot use is very simple and straightforward, you execute things with no interpretation, no exception ...
@TabletopTutorials
@TabletopTutorials 5 лет назад
Yes, the Ego was a unique challenge. With Anachrony being a Euro/Worker Placement game, it was possible to have a more straight forward AI. However, as Cerebria is an area control game, the AI had to be able to make decisions about what it should do. The Ego does a great job of simulating another player and works well with the game without feeling like it was an after thought or add-on. I will agree that it is not as straight forward as Anachrony's Chronobot, but this is to allow the Ego to make decisions without player input in a game with more possible strategies. We are finishing up our Sample Playthrouth video for the Ego and it will be up this week. Hopefully, it will help to make it a little easier to understand--once you get the rules and priorities down, it is quite quick to go through the Ego's turns.

@@TabletopTutorials I think it would work if it was a human opponent, but it's actions are done by the player, who is its adversary, so it can lead to not doing the best for the ego, possibly involuntarily
@TabletopTutorials
@TabletopTutorials 5 лет назад
The player does/should not be making any decisions for Ego as the rules and procedures make all of the decisions. This is why it doesn't seem straight forward. If done correctly, there is no way for the player to involuntarily cause the Ego to take a suboptimal turn. When we first looked at this, it seemed as though the player could impact Ego's decisions but, as we got more familiar with the rules and gameplay, we realised that this is not the case.

I tried playing Ego before you released this video. And I think I played it right, but its nice to have a confirmation now that tells me I was playing it right. :) It looks like Ego is super strong. I played Ego against myself, and I cant manage to win from him. Because everytime im winning the common aspiration, at the end of egos turn, ego gets willpower for it. And he already urns a lot of points during his turn sometime. So when im in a revelation Ego has always enough willpower to make me lose from him xD I probably have to play differently and need to play more to become more experienced. But its weird that when im winning the common aspiration the whole time before the revelation, ego is getting rewarded for it and make me lose from him when the revelation is actually triggered :p But like I said its probably cause of a wrong playstyle im having atm. :)

Ego is able to spend WP to beat the player in the Aspirations to help keep the game balanced since Ego's Operations might not have it perform an action that would actually help with the current goals. It can definitely be frustrating when that happens, but that is why it is important to not let the time between Revelations be too long--the quicker you can score, even if you only place a Minor Fragment, the less WP Ego will have to spend to take the win.
