I love the plastic cladding on the '01 through the '06 Volvo XC70 models. I have had mine since this April of 2024 and am totally head over heals in love with this automobile!!. Solid, and looks TOUGH!!
Yeah we were surprised too! I think it could be because we’re right at sea level? Or maybe rear end ratios? Another note to make is the fact that the newer 6.2’s with the 10 speed transmissions are WAY quicker than the older 6 speeds. So a lot of people just don’t realize how much faster they are That said, we were both really impressed at how much top end power the GM had for sure
@@user-ld8ep5vx1j thanks for your suggestion, we tried that and actually there was no change. Stock settings in auto seem to take it right out to redline and then shift. What really lost the race for the Dodge was 4th gear. 1,2 and 3 it had the Odyssey beat easily but then in 4th it fell on its face. Too tall of a gear
The Volvo wagon would be a great option for sure. Study, comfy and reliable + practical and lots of space. Also the AWD system works great in the snow too. I’d say it’s a pretty solid option
I always use stands. In the case of this video there were a couple times I didn’t, just to get the quick video shot (didn’t stay there long). Not a good idea regardless. Haven’t done that since
Downshift at redline? That doesn’t seem like a great idea. The Caravan lost because of its 4th gear. Falls flat on its face because of the gear ratio, very odd gearing. Give it a shorter 4th and it wins every time against the Honda
I just bought the 2004 XC 70, with 205,001 miles. Spent 2000 dollars on timing belt, ac check, air filters, wipers, and tune up. I need the ac compressor at about 1000 dollars. I expect to spend 3000 dollars on any used car. 18 years is the longest an ac compressor will last. Very happy with it. Great body condition. Love it.
Thanks for watching! If you are near by Maaco Newmarket (Ontario Canada) and need work done to you car, I'd highly recommend stopping in and seeing Steve and Wazi. They'll take great care of you and your vehicle! www.maaco.ca/locations/on/newmarket-12261/
Love the 6.2 but would probably go with an ecoboost again. Biggest reason is with a $600 tune it turns into a beast. The 6.2 takes a lot more $$$ to be able to compete
Amsoil has there test against a lot of products. Especially sea foam. Plus they send analysis to a none bias lab for more testing. Proof is in the pooding ❤
I’m sure all of these products do a decent job :) from what I saw, the Seafoam did slightly better at removing the buildup but it’s pretty safe to say most of these cleaners will do well, especially if done often
There are two types of flushes. 1. Detergent based and 2. Solvent based Detergent based are more expensive and are designed to slowly liquify sludge over time thereby preventing stopping up the oil screen on the engine pump. They are not a quick-fix products but are safe and effective over time. Examples are Amsoil, LiquiMoly. Solvent based flushes are designed to be cheap and work quickly. Heavily sludged engines can be overloaded with the solvent and break large chunks of sludge loose and stopping the screen on the pump up. Sea foam, kerosene, and other inexpensive flushes are examples of solvent based flushes. Both Amsoil, LiquiMoly, BG, and other professional products are designed to slowly dissolve sludge and transfer it to the filter for removal over time. None of them are designed to be quick fixes. They work great in modern VVT systems freeing up sticky solenoids and phasers.
We were just as surprised!! That’s why we tried different modes, tried different rpm’s with the launch and switched drivers, etc. wanted to make sure we did all we could
If you watch the video we tried all of that. Brake boosting at various rpm’s, traction control off (even tried on too), tried different modes, etc. nothing we did changed the outcome of the race
U guys saying because of the turbo it would be faster ....the turbo is better on a roll race ....u guys need to do roll races ....very disapointed ....
@@luisgarcia5950 make sure it has the 10 speed transmission. Old versions were much slower. Also something could be wrong with the truck too. We raced the new 6.2 against both the F150 PowerBoost (3.5 hybrid) and the new EcoBoost (this video) and it nearly tied with the PowerBoost and easily walked away from the 3.5 Eco. Not sure why ours was so fast but it pulled very hard
I bet if you used any top shelf synthetic oil for your vehicle and reduced the oil change intervals slightly the engine internals would clean up just fine.
Roll race? RWD always has better launch stock, it’s why I went AWD, but from a roll it always seems standard out performs automatic, but from a roll I’d like to see that.
I have this model 2.4 turbo petrol engine.Nice car end very, very great condition and good quality.Volvo older models ar built end last forever,ar much better than new new models end don't have many electronic parts.
I wish they'd have kept the 4.0 around. I have a 2010 Chrysler T&C with a 4.0 and that same 6spd auto. I like it so much better than the 3.6 I know it technically makes less power, but the torque seems more usuable for regular driving.
Yeah that makes total sense. It’s definitely the “useable” power that you notice more on a day to day driving basis for sure. Honestly though if Dodge had sorted the gearing out a little better, the Caravan would have easily won this race. It did really well in gears 1,2 and 3, but when it got to 4th it just fell flat. If 4th was a shorter gear it would have stayed in the power band and kept pulling. I’m really curious to see these new vans now with the 9 and 10 speeds
Not sure what you're saying here - I never said anything negative about VTEC in this video. I said the opposite, that it's fun, and thrilling to hear and feel. As far as having the car tuned vs. stock, I'd take a tuned K20 all day. Far more power, higher rev limit, no rev hang and really wakes the car up.
@@tomlantis8016 yeah that all makes total sense and those are all far easier fixes than tearing into the transmission. Good to know. Do you know if some cars did actually have synchro issues? I heard from 2006-2008, the synchro’s themselves were a bit weak. Then after 2009 and newer, Honda addressed the issue and gave the car a stronger set
@@KingdomAutofrom my understanding some do, usually from lack of maintenance and having those bushings go bad without fixing them. From what I hear usually once you do a service and replace the bushings and swap the master out it’s basically good to go. If ur super unlucky than it’s probably sync
@@Dave-mw7gx interesting, I think the Accord V6 would probably take the win (granted this is just my guess) but I think the newer Sonata’s are available with a turbo 4 cylinder and I bet that race would be fun!
