@@sbinnalaok, but i dont convert to mph ;) its not widely off, its off in the legal limits here in germany, by max. 7%(depends on the speed, the speedo will change its variation in %). all i can remember is: Top of third gear is 198 km/h GPS Speed, on the speedo its 210-212(hard to see). also i once drove 361 on the digital speedo, which was 349 km/h on the GPS. not sure how its in the US, but in germany all speedo show a little bit more then the real speed.
@@Macki1287 349 km/h holy crap!!! Did you catch that on video? That’s incredible!!! Yes here in the US the speedometer is exact to GPS. The highest I was able to get mine to safely was 186 mph/300 km/h and the GPS was right on, I was surprised.
Magnificent! Thank you so much for this. I, too, read Speed Six by Bruce Carter. If it weren't for the straight-cut gears and the rattle, the old girl would pretty much be silent! How fast did she hit on the straights? At first I thought she was slower going up the hills, but then on the downhill run - wow! (2 tons + high gearing always helps). She then seemed to hit her stride and the torque really became evident on the uphill runs, especially in the right gear (and look at all the more streamlined racers she was passing - you can line them up well with that radiator cap!). On the fast bits it felt like you were behind the boiler of the Flying Scotsman, but it also felt like the car was chauffeuring you around the racetrack - you felt like who bloody cares where you come - no other driver there had this !
Must be like roller skating round there on stilts. I was salivating while awaiting the Carousel. Nice to see the fastest truck in the world passing a couple of Ettore’s creations How superb to see so many fabulous cars of the era on the Ring, Goodwood on steroids!
When I was a kid in school I read a book called Speed Six! Awesome car, good story too. This is great footage. Love the sound of the straight cut gears and wind noise on the straight.

Good, Macki, your best lap 1.54.20. Drive fast a 996 Gt3 Cup is very difficult. There is a beautiful Jan Seyffarth video, professional race car driver, which drive 996 GT3 Cup on Hockeneim circuit on 1.46.320 on his best lap: very fenomenal on my opinion with same an hard and nervous car.
Nice to see and hear it doing what it was born to do, instead of seeing it polished up and stuck in a museum or some rich guys collection. It's kinda like porn for us petrol heads innit!!
Gotcha ;-) i like the 997, they look just beautiful, especially in plain white ;) the 996 is fun too with the manual Gearbox! i got more 996 Videos on my HD, maby i´ll edit and uploade them! btw: nice job avoiding those seven replicas...
