Just a mom of two little boys trying to keep our small house organized & our lives together. If you need small space organization ideas, cleaning motivation, or just a friend to hang out with - that's why I'm here!
Just one thing I noticed…..you do not need to wash/rinse any items before they go into the dishwasher. The dishwasher detergent needs the remnants of food to attach to actually work properly. I know it sounds counterproductive but it’s true. Have a look online at dishwasher engineers talking about this. Hi from the U.K. 💚🧡🇬🇧
Life advice from a grandmother. Do not save clothes for your someday future grandchildren. Your kids and/or their spouses won’t want them. Save them for your memories if you really want them but in my experience, styles change, elastic etc. breaks down, and you will have taken up space in your home in the meantime.
I’m not trying to be rude, but how and why, do people buy their kids so many clothes. It’s not just you, it’s almost everyone on u~tube. When my child was growing up , he (and most of his friends) had 8 shirts for school and 5 pairs of Jeans and if their feet didn’t grew to fast, they might have 2 pair of shoes.
Just wondering. If or don’t work outside the home why would you not clean your husbands side of the bedroom. To me that’s your job if you are a stay at home wife. He goes to work all day to provide the home for you and then he comes home from his job and then comes home to clean. SMH
Wow! Great job! For the lazy susan stains, try using a powdered detergent called TSP available at your home improvement store. It’s very dry so use some gloves. If you use it will hot water it will melt away dirt and grease. They’ll look new! 😉
I am scared to use my Intsta Pot as well so I don’t use mine either! 🌸There might be places you can go or send the video cassettes and they can make them into DVD or put onto flash drives etc. so you can view them again. 🌸 tax documents usually are kept for 7 years, deeds and titles of homes 7 years. Amazon has rollers that roll black ink over important information and names, numbers etc. that makes it all unreadable so you don’t need a shredder. If you would like to get a shredder probably a micro criss cross cut shredder are the best. 🌸
I was given a lot of hand me downs over the years that I felt bad saying no to, even though I did not need them. My boys were also born in opposite seasons and my oldest was always very big for his age compared to my youngest. So not much ended up aligning with the correct season here unfortunately
If you lived near me, I would hire you in a skinny minute to help organize my tiny kitchen! I downsized last year, and I thought I got rid of enough from the kitchen, but apparently, I didn’t. The house does have a small pantry, and I turned the front hall closet into an appliance garage for things like my dehydrator, electric pressure canner, etc. I also put extra set of shelves in the master closet for the foods I can.
Hello! I just stumbled upon your channel. I LOVE what you do! So inspirational and motivating. I know you mentioned you have had the same topic of extreme decluttering... Honestly, I absolutely love watching every. single. video! Your commentary of each video is also wonderfully descriptive. I can even just listen to it while I clean my own home to keep me inspired! Thanks for sharing your channel.
I didn't save much from my kids at all. I did help my daughter go through her kids' stuff. I bought all new containers for my holiday decor. I finally found the container that fit my shelves the best. Then I can only keep what will fit in them. Works great. Just saw your new bins - Hefty is what my decor is in. Bigger than those though.
I have two girls and recently went through their clothes bins and was able to gift most of it to my cousin and its so fun to see her baby wearing my girls old clothes!
Great job decluttering. The new bins look very nice. I think it’s worthwhile to keep since you’re not sure if you’re going to have another baby. As a grandma myself, I think your kids probably won’t want their baby clothes for their own children. Styles change, they’ll receive gifts and they may receive “hand me down” items from relatives and friends in their age group. We’ve had a couple of those super large bins and I agree with you- I am not a fan. They get very heavy and difficult to move. Would rather use multiple smaller bins (and try to save less.) Your videos are very inspiring. Decluttering is an ongoing process and you help to keep me motivated.
I can't believe all of those clothes were only for 2 children & boys to boot! I thought maybe you had 3 or 4 lol!! But another way I like to think of decluttering clothing - especially when my child was young - was that someone, who perhaps can't afford to buy new would have the opportunity to get some nice clothing for their child. And of course, buying second hand or being able to secure already worn clothing at no cost is a great way to support our planet!! What you accomplished in this video was incredible!! Good for you - thanks for sharing the motivation!!!
In the UK land is expensive so we don’t have houses with big cellars and garages. Storage is a small luxury and usually in the roof space. Decluttering definitely needs to be a regular task. It’s surprising what you decide to keep in the Spring then say goodbye to in the Autumn. My motto is “think twice before it goes into the loft”.
The idea of uniform bins is a good one. well as it looks nice, dparking joy and peace of mind, you know those ones have the one category in them and the labels. What a fun adventure this would be going down memory lane. I remember going through my child's clothes - lots of memories. Those memories are always with you when the children are grown up. Really enjoyed this video. Thanks, Catherine ❤
If you have a “once upon a child” near you, you can sell it to them. I took 1 giant bin and got $63 for it! I also have a bunch of clothes I can’t part with even though it’s not likely I will be having another baby but they are just sentimental!
Something to consider when keeping baby clothes for future kids or grandkids... They're going to want the experience of nesting with their choices and taste. I can pretty much guarantee they won't want any of what you save. Also, no matter how carefully you pack it away, they will unpack with mystery stains and smells. Ask yourself if the what-ifs outweigh the space used when making your decision. Hope this helps.❤
