Honestly I think you have all a person could only dream for - the home, the family, the freedom of getting anything you want and experimenting, swapping stuff etc and also expressing yourself through your home by changing furnitures, organizing etc ❤

Great video! People on the internet can be so mean. I am currently cleaning out my grandparents house after they passed away. It has been crazy, I also have depression and anxiety so it's really hard to stay focused and motivated. With the combination of OCD your videos are really helping me

Thank you for being realistic. It really helps with motivation lol I think to get rid of things, something cool is to join local groups and give items away to families in need who maybe otherwise couldn't afford it. It can be anything too, like an old toaster or old toys, old clothes, opened (obviously unused) diapers ,.and even unused baby food. It also feels kinda like an obligation once you post it (which helps me go through with it) and you can also have them come pick it up or meet them somewhere close by. Somehow knowing someone is getting use out of whatever makes it easier to let go of for me.

my son has AFRID, avoidant food restriction intake disorder. It is common with kids with sensory issues. You are doing wonderful. Way too many parents force their kids to eat foods that trigger their sensory issues refusing to believe its painful for them to do so (sensory issues are absolutely akin to pain). You working to find more safe foods for him made me like you and your channel even more as it is rare and beautiful to see. The most important thing to remember with kids who have trouble eating (due to sensory issues) is "fed is best". You will find yourself being creative like you never knew you could and throwing away a lot of ideals about healthy food (to a point). For example, my kid refused to eat so much when he was 2 that he had an iron deficiency. He already had sensory and taste issues, no way was he taking the iron supplements. I did some research and learned that vitamin c helps with iron absorption. So I started giving him sunny d with his cream of wheat, cheerios, and oatmeal. His iron was back to normal next test. He used to terrify me at two because before he started eating oatmeal and cream of wheat, he wouldn't eat anything but cheerios and peanut butter. That is how I learned fed is best, it took months of me shaming myself for not giving him what he needs until my grandfather assured me he is not starving. My son also went through food therapy and it helped a bit. Now he is 11 and while there are a lot of foods he wont eat, he does eat way more. Like I can not get him to eat chili to save my life but he will eat a cheeseburger with just ketchup so we keep hamburgers in the house. I definitely cant get him to eat soups either and medicine is still a challenge but he does a little better with that. I know my comment is a long one, but hopefully it helps a bit with assuring you.

I’m glad you and your son were able to figure it out, and that was smart to use Vitamin C to help him get his iron. (That’s actually something they teach us in nursing school so I thought that was cool) Thank you for being so patient and mindful to help him be healthy

My son was similar! We had to work up verrrry slowly- starting with foods that had a smooth texture to lumpier and more solid. But slowly. He’s five now and eats like a champ. I know it’s discouraging and frustrating, but it will get better!

You asked if we had some ideas about what to do with extra or aging foodstuffs... Here's what I do- I contacted an animal rescue in the next town where they have a little bit of all kinds of creatures, mostly wildlife like ducks, possums, raccoons, all kinds of birds and odd circus animals (we're in a circus retirement area)... I explained what I had and they asked me to leave it in the original container (if possible) and bring it to them. This included cereal, crackers, seeds, nuts, breads without mold, dry beans, greens if not wilted, and the like. I included whatever I was not sure of and they decided onsite. It was used, after inspection, to feed animals whose diets were consistent with the product. As we eat pretty well- healthy- the items were useful. Even snack bars, crumbled or broken, were used as long as they weren't sugary. Our rice (uncooked) was taken by their rescue team who would put it in old socks, tie them off, and heat in a microwave to make a 'warm buddy' for baby animals who were cold/wet/abandoned/lost! Oatmeal was a favorite, I was told. I was amazed at what the people there imagined to do! They had a veterinary supervisor and I left it up to them to decide.--- I also took food to Goodwill donation stations when they advertised with a signboard outside the station they accepted food donations. They collected it and a food bank came and picked it up weekly.-- My mother tells me people bring food to the break room in her workplace and leave it on a table marked "FREE" that anyone can access.-- Hope this is helpful.-- Nice of you to care about this!

we all have a pantry like yours from time to time if kids are sick or quite a bit going on so the pantry gets neglected. It happens not matter how are you try to keep up, being in the Northeast climate you always have more just in case of a snow storm to tide you over. i have had a week go by before I could get my car out so take a deep breath! All is good! You have the best organization videos! Love the fireplace what a difference it makes in your living room!

My sister was food phobic as a child. Meal times were a nightmare, so I do understand. My mother was so stressed. She eats very healthily now. No junk food at all, and all meals cooked from scratch. She's also thin as a pin! Dont worry. All will be ok.

I'm bad at getting decluttered items out of the house, too. When decluttering toys, and even clothes, see if grandparents or other nearby family members want some. As a grandmother myself, I know i need some toys at my house for when my grandkids ate visiting.

I have had to lose some foods over the years too. Even with trying your best it just happens. I am like you and will taste stuff after the exp date since a lot of times it's still good. If it's sorta stale I'll put it out for the birds and animals if it's something they can eat and that makes me feel better :)

I like to mix dark chocolate chips and semi sweet chocolate chips in my cookies too. It really does make them much better with the combination. I have seven kids age 20 down to 4. Something I try to do is have all of their socks the same style and color so there’s never any sorting and pairing up. Also if a sock gets lost, the lonely one can still pair with the rest. Loved your video.

Much more important stuff on the list of Mom things.-- Pretty house and furniture- like your taste. Congrats on the new fireplace. 32:12 hi, I am and was a picky eater for my entire childhood. I’m an adult now and I’ve really pinpointed it’s mostly textures that bother me, besides a few flavors that make me gag. I have some safe foods that I fall back to, but I am much better at eating a better variety now. I found out through trial and error how to cook things like vegetables to help me eat more of them. It’s mostly just working with the difficulties, figuring out what it is about a food that you don’t like, and really paying attention to what you do like. I go through waves where I’ll be much less picky, and waves where I’ll be really picky again, mostly when I’m stressed it’s harder to eat. So, don’t be upset if it seems like sometimes he eats really well and doesn’t have many issues, then suddenly doesn’t eat a lot again, and can’t handle as many types of foods again. Sometimes, I find it helps to have foods that aren’t complicated, as in they don’t have a lot of different things mixed together (I still prefer to eat noodles and spaghetti sauce separately if I can). Help teach him to pay attention to his hunger and if he’s hungry help him get something he will eat. Because that’s of course the most important thing is you’re just trying to keep him healthy. You sound like you’re doing a good job, just keep introducing your son to new things, and try different ways of cooking them. When he gets bigger, you can start involving him in the cooking process so he can help add ingredients and see what kind of stuff goes into making food, which I found helped me as well. It’s also really good you’re talking to a doctor to rule out health problems, you are doing a good job and I also just wanted to say that. This advice isn’t a catch all, of course, I’m just a random RU-vid commenter, but I have struggled with eating my whole life and because I’ve figured out how to work with my body, it is much easier.

I just found your channel. My son is 3.5 years old and has difficulty with foods both flavor and texture (he has a genetic disorder that results in many autistic traits). He has had feeding therapy since 10 months old and still mostly eats purées/smoothies. I know how hard this is especially when family don’t understand. Luckily my son’s preferred flavor is peanut butter, so he will eat oatmeal and smoothies with almost any fruit or veggie added as long as the dominant flavor is peanut butter. My advice is to try to just build on what he feels safe with and celebrate even the smallest victories ❤

You probably won't want to hear this but, try toy rotation! Daycare use toy rotation, put half as many toys away for a while, then rotate out some as you see your children becoming uninterested in what they are playing with. Slowly you'll see what are their favorites and can eliminate some. There will always be holidays and new toys to come. Don't get overwhelmed by toys. And your right, complete the declutter same day!😊

My son wouldn't eat ANYTHING, and now he dips everything in applesauce and will eat it. I mean, pizza, chicken, Salisbury steaks. It's his dipping sauce. No he's not on the spectrum. But this is his dipping sauce we accidentally stumbled upon. Now he's been trying things without when we are out of AS, and he can tolerate. It may help. Good luck, Momma! Love your videos. But please slow down. The speed makes me dizzy. Longer is much better. Thank you for the inspiration!

I like the speed, but you can slow down the playback speed, if you want.

This is proof that what youtubers do in their videos are not at all true. It's just to make a video and they never donate anything. Also when they make over a space and once the video is finished they return everything they buy for a refund.

Yeah no, that’s not the case. I don’t lie to my viewers. I don’t buy things and return them for videos. There’s been a few times where a decluttered item didn’t make it out of my house right away and I addressed that in this video so clearly I’m not out to deceive people if I outted myself for it

I was thinking your kid may be picky with food because of the expired items in the pantry. You mentioned a year and a half which is a red flag. If you notice your stocks are still there, feel free to clean up as that may be toxic for their health. Just maybe make your pantry attractive for them to keep coming.

Please don’t use this awful music anymore… honestly it’s just so obnoxious and unnecessary… I adore your channel but I can’t stand the music anymore

I have to use royalty free music and only have so many options. But what I’ve learned is that no matter what I pick, I simply cannot please everyone so I don’t even think of it much anymore, I just pick pretty randomly and see how it goes 🫠 sometimes I do all acoustic and instrumental and sometimes I don’t. But either way not everyone will be happy

Hi there.. I know- I’m not at behind in watching this video 😂 But I just heard you mention your son’s eating habits. My son will be 22 years old next month. Since he was born, he had MANY food aversions- the same reactions of gagging before the food even came in contact with his mouth. He was diagnosed with OCD in the form of an eating disorder. We were told not to force him, and allow him to eat what he would eat. I will mention- this did include a single fruit or vegetable (unless you consider French fries a vegetable 🫤). To this day, he will not eat fruits or vegetables.. he has added some foods to his diet- all meats, unfortunately. He has always been a healthy child, minus the childhood asthma that he outgrew before his teens. I know the frustration.. the judgment passed on you (sometimes even in your own home by guests invited to dinner), and the worrying you have done/will continue to do about how unhealthy it must be! Believe me- I went through it allllll- and still do, even though my son is 21 years old now! Haha As hard as it is, don’t let their comments get to you and don’t feel the need to justify what your son eats/doesn’t eat. If we needed to go somewhere where a meal would be eaten- I would take something for my son to eat if I didn’t know there would be something there for him. I packed him the exact same lunch from K-12, so we knew he would eat at school. The comments of others never seemed to bother him, as long as he wasn’t being forced to try something. Our pediatrician thought “peer pressure will correct it”, but he was wrong! Haha Just let him eat what he will eat, and know that you’re still a great mom- no matter what he doesn’t want to eat!!
