I love kids, I’m an auntie, I’m the “fun auntie”. Even friends kids I adore and get on the ground and have trouble concentrating on the adult conversation because the kids are so cute and fun, BUT, I don’t want any of my own, I never have even as a kid playing house. It’s kinda a blessing because if I was to have kids because of my many chronic illnesses, and the deformities in my body, I would not survive the pregnancy . That being said I am pro life, Jesus sacrificed his life for us, and so many parents of kids who are out of the womb would willingly sacrifice their lives for their kids, why not do everything you could to give your little one who is still IN the womb a chance at life even at the expense of your own. I say this but I know when it comes right down to it, in the moment, you don’t always know what you will do until the time comes. I hope I’d have the courage to do what I needed to give my baby a chance at life. This is NOT to say that every disabled or chronically ill person shouldn’t have kids. Many disabled people are successful and wonderfully capable parents, I just wouldn’t be.
My husband does this too, as did his grandmother. He'll often step out into the sun, sneeze, sigh, and say "thanks, Grandma." (And our toddler has done it from almost the day she was born too.)
@blimeycow About Bush at the school and the words the teacher was going over with the kids...I looked up images of the paper she was teaching from...you have the words wrong, they are Kit, Steal and Playing. It sounded to the ear the way you said when the video was playing, but an image search shows otherwise.
The music playing during the conspiracy stuff makes it actually give me the chills (especially the mask part). Yey to people who don't care about the election. I'm that type. I think the last time I voted was 2008. I shouldn't have even participated then. Oh well. Hooray for Owen being born. Congrats on the new car too. I am a big fan of old trucks and always have been. Stick shift is so good to learn. I semi learned but my husband has always driven stick shift. I need to practice more one day...
Hey, great to see you back! Gotta admit, Owen isn't a name I'd have expected you to choose. (I'd expect you to go with something more Biblical - I don't have a problem with it at all, just not what I would've guessed.)
My kiddo had a tongue tie. Couldn't latch. Had to pump and bottle feed. So glad i didn't get the clip. He's perfect now. Friends kiddo had a tongue tie, got it clipped and now because of scar tissue has severe speech issues, eating issues. FYI
Driving a stick is so much fun once you get the hang of it. Hills are hard but with time you'll learn to love them! Keep us posted on how driving practice is going!
We had a similar experience with the tongue/lip tie, for my son. We could tell something was off, but several different practitioners said he didn't have any tie issues. Finally one person pulled his lip and tongue back and showed us how obvious they were, and it made a huge difference after getting them cut.
I love the way that Jordan and Josh will casually say, when you think about it, some of the most out of pocket things when having political discussion. Because of how unfortunately normal it is in our political landscape.
So hyped for you, Jordan and Sara. My husband and I had our first last fall and I’m resonating so much with what you’re saying. Parenting really is so much better than I ever expected. Owen staring at the sign is cute-my son would stare at this painting of ducks in a marsh for minutes at a time. Babies are so funny.
David Icke is the guy that popularized the lizard people theory. He's totally wrong of course, it's not a lizard that controls the world, it's a serpent.
Congratulations Jordan! I very much resonate with your initial reaction of what it's like to be handed your child for the first time! I think my biggest parenting advice from having a newborn to how to homeschool is learn your child. That will inform so many of your parenting decisions. And I agree with Josh so much in what parenting is like. It's been the hardest and best job I've ever had.
Yay!! Welcome back 🤍 Josh, less screen time being easier with more kids is because they play with each other instead of needing you to entertain them 😂
Congrats on the baby, Jordan! 🥳 The lizard people conspiracy actually comes from early digital video and digital artifacts. Several times on live television the feed would glitch, leaving digital artifacts that would at times make people's faces look weird. Somehow conspiracy theorists equated it to amphibians or skinwalkers. Lizard People is just a term to make fun of these theories. Obviously, anyone who works with cameras knows what digital artifacts are. But many of these conspiracy theorists do not.
Congratulations Jordan!! 👶 I have had 3 C-sections (last one was twins 😂), and I found it surreal to hear the doctors and nurses talking about their everyday lives while they removed all my organs to pull the baby/babies out. Also, all for all our babies, taking them outside when they were crying was magical. They would just stop! Glad y’all are back!
