i'm playing Lazer on Linux because it was an option right under my nose in my software center, for 6 months i didn't even knew that Lazer is the new OSU, i thought Lazer just a Mac/Linux port
used to dislike ppy because he flamed me for smth (i forgot what but i was definitely being cringe whatever it was) when I was like 15, nowadays ppy is my all time favorite game dev and I can not believe how much he has put into osu!, one of the most genuine people in the gaming industry that I'm aware of.
Been switching to lazer 1.5 years ago because it already ran smoother than stable on my pc. Didnt play osu for a year and came back. How is it still not the main version? It felt basically done and imo better than stable 1.5 years ago
Many people wont like change, and lazer is quite different from stable. From not being able to fully skin things (yet), editor is different, and the overall experience. I'm 6 digit, and didn't really play till august last year, and I switched to stable this year when PP was ranked, and I love it. I cannot go back to stable, I like lazer way more. I do miss the skins affecting song select and end result screens though, it doesn't work in lazer. But even now, lazer is missing some features from stable, and sometimes a single thing can be preventing a lot of people from switching. Maybe it also runs worse for a lot of people, osu! stable can run on pretty old PC's unlike lazer.
